YRock Top Of The Class '09
The hunt is on to find THE BEST highschool band in the land. Over the next couple of months YRock will be scouring Scotland and the North of England in attempt to crown one talented young band ‘YRock’s best in Britain’. Last year’s lucky winners walked away with Marshall Amps, hundreds of pounds worth of music vouchers, and oh, an all expenses paid trip to Hong Kong to play at the YRock Jam Fest. YRock at George Square
This year we were lucky enough to be able to showcase some fantastic young bands on the big stage at George Square. Part of the Glasgow Winterfest, it was a HUGE stage, and a HUGE success, and to all you bands that braved the icy conditions to play great sets outdoors, we salute you. Personally, my fingers were completely numb so those guitar solos must have been near impossible! Bands playing were: Highfives and Handshakes; Tourist!; The Deneros; Lost in Oxygen; Models for the radio; Acute Riot. See www.yrock.co.uk for pics and reviews.
SOS Music Project
YRock have teamed up with 'Sense over Sectarianism' to work with two Glasgow schools. Over the coming months we'll be writing and recording a CD, then promoting it to the local community in a bid to address the shameful business of sectarianism through a shameless love of music!

  • YRock Summer School

    YRock School is a tailored course for budding young musicians to get their first taste of stardom.


    This course is ideal for beginner to intermediate musicians aged 11+ and is a great way to meet new friends with the same interests and start playing in bands!

    Run by professionals and experienced musicians we bring you a crash course on all things music and bands, culminating in a fantastic live show!


    Ideally suited for guitarists, bassists, singers and drummers, it’s a fantastic way to play music, meet new people, and get out of the house over the holidays…


    We are running 5 day sessions in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Leeds. The 5 day course costs is only £100 and offers a great experience for young musicians.
