How do you feel this morning?
I don’t think it’s hit me yet. I did the best that I could. At the end of the day it wasn’t good enough, so…
What did you do last night after the show?
I went and saw my family and got very merry. This morning I look a bag lady and I’ve got no knickers on cos I’d run out of clean ones!
Where you surprised when your name was called out?
No, I thought I was going to go home last night, I had a feeling. So I had a glass of wine before I went on for the results. Then I drank champagne, then pink champagne, then I went into Dermot O’Leary’s room and drank all his champagne, and ate all his food. When everything had gone I got dragged back to the house, and I had some wine in the house. I was giving wine away in the street.
Sounds like a party!
When I woke up this morning, I couldn’t breathe and I couldn’t move. Then I realised I’d gone to bed in the white frock and tight corset I’d worn on the show!
When did you pack and leave the house?
I packed some of it before the show. Being an older lady, you don’t want to forget anything… so that’s something Beverley and I would always do before the show. And I set my alarm at 6am this morning and finished it off. What a headache. Maybe they will find some knickers under the bed.
Is there anything in the competition you would have done differently?
Yeah, probably dieted a bit more cos I was a bit fat! Otherwise, no!
What did you enjoy most about the experience?
Getting free stuff!
What won’t you miss about your X Factor time?
The regime. People shouting at you to get up at six o’clock in the morning.
Were you confident last night’s song choices were the right ones?
Yes, I wouldn’t have chosen differently.
And what did you make of the judges’ comments?
Ha ha, I don’t really care about them any more, do I? But it’s hard to stand on stage and bite my tongue when the comments are negative.
Who will you keep in touch with?
I’ll keep in touch with Bev and Dan the most I think, and probably Sarah from Same Difference because she’s lovely.
What was the best moment of your X Factor journey?
Meeting the web team of course, ha ha!
Are you sad your version of the Winner’s song and video won’t be released?
Absolutely. But I had my feet planted firmly on the ground through out, and deep down I knew that would probably be the case. I’m fine with it.
Who do you want to win now?
Leon. He’s a natural talent and he’s only 18. If someone gets hold of him he could be massive.
Have you had any offers since the show ended?
Only for nights of passion!

So what are your plans between now and The X Factor tour?
I’ll probably be in the pub! It’s my birthday on December 13th so the party starts there....
