Survivor Series 2009 Preview & Predictions
Coming off a brilliant Bragging Rights PPV its almost time for WWEs November tradition the Survivor Series. Its not the 1980s anymore so there are only two Traditional Survivor Series Match ups but both are stacked heavily with some impressive WWE Mid Card talent. Throw in two World Championship Matches and the Rey vs Batista grudge match and the event has all the making to be a great PPV:
Here is the WWE Survivor Series 2009 card:
* Traditional Survivor Series Match: TEAM MORRISON: John Morrison, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Shelton Benjamin and Finlay vs. TEAM MIZ: The Miz, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger
It should be a an average-good match at best. Like i stated about the Bragging Rights Team Match(Before i found out it wasn't elimination) if there are quick tags and some fast action & eliminations this match could work. Hopefully everyone gets a few minutes to shine. Look out for Morrison,Ziggles & McIntyre to shine in the match if given time. Also its essential that WWE throw say Sheamus in with Morrison or Matt Hardy to see how he fairs.
* Traditional Survivor Series Match: TEAM MICKIE: Mickie James, Eve Torres, Kelly Kelly, Melina, and Gail Kim vs. TEAM MCCOOL: Michelle McCool, Jillian Hall, Beth Phoenix, Layla and Alicia Fox.
The women s division has been poor at best the last few months. Im high on Alicia Fox at the moment and Mickies last outing on SD last week wasn't terrible so im sure my low expectations will result in a below average match
* Traditional Survivor Series Match: TEAM KOFI: Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, MVP, R-Truth and Christian vs. TEAM ORTON: Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, William Regal and CM Punk
Yes i am looking forward to this one. Kingstons has been a good run and despite me hating R-Truths gimmick hes till a good in ring wrestler. Will we see a Christian vs Orton or Christian vs Ted Dibiase or even CM Punk vs Christian match up. Throw in Willam Regal and i think this could really be a great Survivor Series Match up. Also it will be fresh to see Orton not tangling with Cena or HHH
* Rey Mysterio vs. Batista
Im gutted to hear Reys carrying an injury. The lead up to the story has been top notch and Reys performances in the ring this year have been some of his best. If handled correctly and if Rey can carry most of the match this should be decent enough. Cant believe im psyched for a Batista Match.
* World Title Match: The Undertaker © vs. Chris Jericho vs. The Big Show
Dud
Takers looking alot better lately in the ring health wise but with Show in the match im not sure even the ring brilliance of Y2J can save this one. It will be an average match at best
* WWE Title Match: John Cena © vs. HBK vs. HHH
Cant belive a WWE Main Event match has no storyline what so ever to it. HBK/HHH will put in a good shift of that i have no doubt. Cena will be found out big time in this match just how weak he is in the ring. If there was a storyline between HBK & HHH id be mega pushed for this match but in saying that im still a little interested to see how HBK & HHH fair in the match. Match quality wont be a let down but there will be little or 0 chemistry or story told in the match.(Unless DX turn on each other
).
Overall: On paper its looking good. I think they could of made the Main Event Y2J vs Taker or are they saving it for WrestleMania! I hope the Mid Carders (Swagger,Bourne) arent buried but given at least a few minutes to show case there talents. Its the first time in a long time im looking forward to a WWE PPV!

TNA Turning Point 2009 Review
Coming off the heels of a suspiciously enjoyable PPV, Bound For Glory, we're here at TNA's next PPV. The card looks really promising, and we can only hope that TNA can do the business once again on PPV, something we're built to not expect (TNA's PPV performances throughout the majority of 2008/2009 have been average at best, and "absolute shit" at worst) Throughout the night, we're reminded that Hulk Hogan has signed with TNA, although he was not in town, so he wasn't going to make an appearance. It's a shame that we're in the iMPACT zone, because they don't even bother making it look like a PPV. Oh well!
Whatever qualms you have about TNA, they have 3 hours here to show the wrestling world that they deserve better. They have the talent to do so, but are they motivated and booked correctly? Let's find out!
X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP
The Amazing Red vs. Homicide
We start off with a solid match between Homicide and Amazing Red, accompanied by Don West, who must be either mic'ed or a loud talker as you can hear him! The two put on a match that didn't quite flow (there wasn't a storyline) but there were some nice signature spots. Homicide humorously flipped off the ref! Overall, the match was enjoyable, but you could really see Amazing Red is pretty green; his place right now is best seen in an X-Division spot-fest. Red retained his belt (good booking decision). However, good effort from both lads, and a solid opener to the PPV.
ALL THE TITLES ON THE LINE (KO/KO TAG)
The Beautiful People vs. ODB, Taylor Wilde and Sarita
Wow, there were a lot of ass shots in the opening minutes of this PPV -- cameraman, thank you! Either TBP have improved, or their opponents really worked very hard to hide their lack in skills - and did a pretty good job. TBP looked competant, although ODB took a back seat as she wasn't involved much in the match. It didn't help that no-one really understood the rules of the match (What would happen if someone pinned a tag champion?). It wasn't bad --last month was bad-- it was passable. In another correct booking decision, the faces won, with Madison Rayne jobbing. You know you're going nowhere when a new girl joins your group and you're still the jobber! All in all, a much better effort, although this match had the least potential to be good.
TNA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
Motor City Machine Guns vs. The British Invasion vs Beer Money Inc
Surprisingly, we didn't see a run-in by Rob Terry! MMG and Beer Money worked hard to keep the match entertaining (although the "gay spot", previously used for Beer Money, is now done by the Brits) ...Magnus spent little time in the ring, and looked competant. The match fatigued a bit, but wasn't boring. Then Russo happened as Eric Young came down to aid the Brits, then Nash came out, and swerved us all by clocking Storm, taking his Legends' belt, and smiling at Young. GOD!
Overall, though, the match was good, pretty much as good as you were ever gonna get with this match.
Backstage, Nash tells us he did what he did because of "Hulk". Oddly enough, he repeats the word "Hulk", never saying "Hogan". So we've got some kind of Nash/Hogan angle...all we need is Jarrett and a finger-poke and we're set
SIX SIDES OF STEEL CAGE MATCH
Tara vs. Awesome Kong
I wondered if this match would feature blood. But it was an OK match, but both women didn't take any huge bumps, save for the finish, which was crazy. Victoria did some moves off the top rope, getting a Last Ride on Kong too! The finish came when Tara did a Lou Thez schmoz off the TOP OF THE CAGE and hit Kong, and got the pin. She was very emotional to have won the match...soured by me remembering that she's actually held the women's belt already. Great try girls, although both of you aren't working anywhere near the level they've previously reached. A solid effort, although I personally didn't appreciate it as much as the crowd in attendance did.

Smackdown Review 13/11/09
Smackdown
So were in the UK for this weeks edition of Smackdown. The crowd are really up for it until CM Punk hits the ring to a huge chorus of boos. Punk cuts a cracking promo about UK and how its gone to pieces
Man its amzaing how much Punk has changed for the best in a year. Here comes R-Truth to a decent pop but im not amused with his stupid ass gimmick. Truth is lame as a duck on the mic for god sake shut the hell up before i change the station.
CM Punk vs R-Truth
Finally the match starts. Nothing really spectacular from both men in the beginning. The pace of the match is pretty slow. Nice kick by Punk kncoking Truth of the ropes
Boring offense from Punk than the match comes to stand still its that slow. Punk spends the next few minutes working on Truths legs. The crowd are dead for this match. Truth misses a scissor kick and tries to hit the GTS but Truth reverses it to no avail as Punk rolls him up and grabs hold of the ropes for the win.
Winner: Punk in a slow boring match
Boring Mickie James/Layla segemnt
Mickie James vs Natayla
Mickie certainly looks better in the ring this week. Its great to see Natayla in the ring. Shes a power house tossing Mickie around. Surfboard by Natayla and its done to perfection. Some nice exchanges by both girls. Mickie really has improved in this match. Here comes Layla & McCool there cutting Mickies clothes
Natayla slaps on the sharpshooter
for the win.
Winner: Natayla in a decent match
Cool little Survivor Series advertisemnt. From the vault is the Great Khali vs Undertaker in a No Holds Barred Match from SD November 2007. Great to hear JBL on commentary again. Josh Matthews is interviewing John Morrison backstage. Morrisons words are slipping out of his mouth like a wet fish out of someones hands. His promo work has improved maybe WWE have stopped restricting him. Morrison just included David Beckham in his promo
Drew McIntyre vs Finlay
McIntyres pretty useful on the mic considering hes green as Mr. Spocks pee
Finlay gets a good crowd reaction the best of the night so far. Stiff opening by Finlay. Todd Grisham and Striker havent a clue about Northen Ireland and Scotlands history by the way there going on about it. Pair of twats. Good exchanges by both men as the match spills outside. Finlay & McIntyre are solid wrestlers they brawl till the ref calls for the bell. Mcintyre boots Finlay before he can get to the Shaleagh. McIntyre nails Finlay with the Shaleagh and continues doing it.
Winner: Double DQ in a solid match. This feud has potential
Rey Mysterio vs Batista contract signing
Strikers in the ring calling both mens arrival to the ring. Rey gets a huge pop from the UK crowd. Holy shit there booing Tista and its not a Cena boo its a heel boo. Brillaint Tista makes for a great heel. Tista straight down to busniess signing the contract and so does Rey. Tista has some other contract for Rey to sign stating that Tista cant be held accountable for what he does to Rey at SS. Rey wont sign it and Tistas getting angry. Why does Tista sound better on the mic now hes a heel???? Rey signs it and flips the table on Tista and high tails it backstage while Tista wrecks the chair in the ring.
John Morrison(c) vs Dolp Ziggler
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Good pop for Ziggles,Great pop for Morrison. Ziggles takes the lead in the match till Morrison nails a few shots of his own and an impressive flapjack. Wonderful trip by Ziggles while Morrisons on the top ropes. The match is moving along at lighting pace so far. Close 3 count for Ziggles after Morrison crashed and burned into the turnbuckle. The pace of the match has slowed a little. More good exchanges by both men lefts and rights. Wonderful forearm and kick by Morrison
Ziggles hit a dangerous looking face plant. Loving the match

2012 ***Contains Spoilers***
by
Old School Wrestling
I sat my ass down in my usual Premier seats in anticipation for this movie. From the advertisements it looked intresting for want of a better word. The beginning of the movie is set in present time where some scientists discover that solar flairs are going to heat the earths core up like a cup of tea. It just so happens to co-inside with the Mayans who predicted that in 2012 the world will end. Im not a fan of movies which are just basic CGI fests when the movie actually has some good actors. Anyhows 30 minutes later its 2012 and the earth begins to fall apart literally. John Cusack plays Jackson Curtis a failed Sci-fi writer trying to get his family to safety in the middle of Armageddon.0 Replys 4 days
Danny Glover does a good job playing the US President but everyone else involved in the acting department fail miserably. Woddy Harleson steals the whole movie playing a crackpot conspiracy theorist who runs a pirate radio station.Hes in the film for a total of 25 minutes and the movie lasts over 2 and half hours so il let you work out yourself how bad the acting was. The Super Volcano in Yellowstone National Park erupts and from than on its a rollercoatser ride of loud explosions and impressive mind blowing effects.
What makes the story work for me is that Unlike Armageddon & Deep Impact there isnt just one global disaster and than the movie ends or theres not 50 minutes of boring talking leading up to one disaster. Its destruction followed by some dialect than more destruction followed by some dialect and than even more destruction. When the earth is finsihed been ravaged by Quakes the tidal waves come. They make the wave in the Perfect Storm look like a splash in a tea cup. The Tsunamis are big enough to throw an Aircraft Carrier in the air and demolish the White House.
In the end a few hundred people who make it to the tibetan mountians where a coalition of goverments have been constructing Arks to save the human race from extinction since 2009. In the end its up to the Presidents nerdy head scientist to give a rousing speech to let as may people as possible on board. And Jackson Curtis(John Cusack) has to help repair the Ark hes on before it crashs into the top of Mount Everest
Verdict: Its definitley a guy film. I wouldnt recomend to anyone who thinks there a movie buff as youd be pointing out its bad aspects from start to finish. The CGI was the star of the movie but my god there were some impressive scenes of global destrcution including an image of Hawai as lava covered piece of rock
Plus the car chases/plane escape scenes honestly gave me goosebumps! Acting wise Cusack,Glover & Harrelson saved it from being labelled a raspberry

Burnout Paradise-An excellent game marred by amazingly simple frustrating flaws
by
Shane Sir Spam-Alot OMahony
Burnout. You dont like Burnout? You have no soul3 Replys 4 weeks
.From the moment we as kids picked up toy cars what was the first thing we did?Crash them.In all racing/car games (e.g Gran Turismo) crashing is a bad thing and visual damage was slim to none.Burnout came along allowing gamers to travel at ridiculous speed into oncoming traffic and when the innevitable crash happened you werent given out to by a nagging girlfriend while your car remained the same shape spinning around twice, no you were treated to amazing visuals of your once pride and joy in the shape of a crumpled up crisp packet.Burnout was simple it took your standard car sim game and sped up like fuck and put you in busy traffic.Whats not to love.
Since first playing Burnout I dreamed for a free-roaming/sandbox style where you can crash freely without having to be in a race. When I heard the Burnout Paradise was gonna do this well lets just say it got me excited. Then when I heard it was for X-Box and PS3 only I was pissed (at the time all I had was my beloved PS2).I kid you not this was sole reason I bought an X-Box (and I dont regret it I can tell you that).Free roaming, free to crash at will without consequence it would get anyone excited but it made me buy an X-Box.So lets get down into Burnout Paradise.
Ah sitting down to play Burnout while Paradise City by Guns N' Roses plays out in the background. You pick your car based on one of 3 types: Stunt,Agression and Speed.I recommend stunt because theyre the most balanced and easiest to control. No real car models are in the game as manufacturers dont want to see their belved cars in crumpled heaps. One of the first things youll notice is that the visuals are absolutely amazing.Crash head first into a wall and your rewarded with a slow motion video of your car crumpling into on heap. The cars shine like theyve been newly polished and damage has never looked so real.
The first maybe 10-15 minutes will almost definitely be spent crashing into things and if not crashing into things then your driving around looking for things to crash into.Simply travelling at high speeds is incredible.Running the risk of crashing in races due to travelling at 200 mph will give anybody an adreniline rush. And the end of every race will have the heart beating franticly.Win and your head goes back in a sigh of relief.Lose and your controller is smashed into the wall. Not primarly because you lost but because you cant choose to restart races if you dont win.You have to go back to the set of traffic lights in which you pressed the too triggers to start the race. And getting from poitn A to Point B without getting distracted in one way or another is virtually imosssible.
Another huge fault is the fact that races arent mapped out clearly.Free roaming driving games such as Midnight Club place checkpoint in the race so if you take a wrong turn you can at least get back on track by going to the glowing orange marker on the map.In Burnout its get from point A to Point B anyway you like.No checkpoints,no bariers only a map and street signs on the top of the screen which glow when you need to turn.Sometimes you make a wrong turn without even realising it.
The stroy of Burnout is too earn marks on your license. After a certain ammount of marks your license will upgrade going from D to A and finally a Burnout license. Not only does it take more marks but the challenges become harder. These challenges or events are simple.Theres your standard Race.Burning Route's where you must get to a certain oint within a time limit.Every car has its own Burning Route and you can only do a Burning Route with the car its been assigned with.Marked man are quite fun and involve you getting from point A to point B without having your car totalled by the several black cars following you.Stunt rnus involve getting a certain ammount of points by doing stunts (Barrel Rolls,Big Air,Smashing stuff heck driving in reverse will earn you points for a while
).

THE DISTURBED
Writer and director Conor McMahon will be in attendance to introduce his latest creation, his first feature since 2004’s Leitrim-lensed bovine zombie classic Dead Meat. The Disturbed arose from an urge to embrace a looser, more improvisational approach to filmmaking: the vivid – and blackly funny – results suggest a way forward for the Irish horror film. Initially, at least, The Disturbed suggests a homegrown riff on the tired old torture porn genre: a pair of sociopathic Dubs (Clyde Moulds and Stephen Murray) have kidnapped an unfortunate young woman (Carla McGlynn) – they’re planning a jolly weekend of torture and mayhem, which they’re capturing for posterity on video. So far, so messed up; to say that things go seriously pear-shaped for our demented duo is a serious understatement. Featuring a trio of game performances from Moulds, Murray and McGlynn, The Disturbed is all the more remarkable for the fact that it was shot on a pittance in a mere five days. Now all we need is a feature from McMahon’s Dead Meat cohort Edward King... What do you mean he’s too busy programming Horrorthon?
THIRST
SOUTH KOREA’S MASTER OF MAYHEM, CHAN-WOOK PARK DELIVERS HIS TAKE ON THE VAMPIRE FLICK IN THIS EYE-BOGGLING CAVALCADE OF SEX, INFIDELITY, BLOOD-LUST, MURDER AND THE CATHOLIC PRIEST MIXED UP IN ALL OF THEM.
It’s a tough ask to top Old Boy and Lady Vengeance, but he certainly applies himself by taking traditional celluloid blood-sucking lore, adding a dash of Zola’s Thérèse Raquin, and no doubt drawing on the commanding presence of various Christian churches in today’s South Korean society. The doughty Kang-ho Song (from monster flick The Host and kimchee western The Good, the Bad, the Weird) plays a man of the cloth driven to do good, who signs up for a medical research programme that’s already killed 499 volunteers. Surprisingly, he survives intact — except that his skin now burns in sunshine, and he has a raging thirst for human blood. Spending time in a hospital provides opportunities for some fairly benign quaffing, but it also brings him into contact with a stricken patient’s seemingly demure, long-suffering wife (Hae-sook Kim). Sparks fly, and soon his hunger is of a very different variety.
Park’s obviously using the vampire idea to suggest that, whether it’s religion or desire, we can sometimes face addictions which overwhelm us. That said, as his movie veers from brilliantly choreographed carnage to sardonic social comedy and a final affecting restatement of the primacy of moral choice, he never gives us that long to think about it. Especially when ferociously wicked Kim is tearing it up as a femme fatale in thrall to sensation, proving that it certainly is the quiet ones you have to watch. — Trevor Johnston.
THE SINFUL DWARF
“A young bride... left alone to the lewd passions of an evil dwarf.” Ah, they just don't make poster taglines like they used to. Every year Horrorthon offers you the welcome opportunity to pay witness to classic cult movies so indescribably, well, indescribable that you're often left wondering afterwards whether or not the whole thing was just a particularly vivid hallucination... Movies like Sinful Dwarf. This 1973 Danish exploitation 'classic' concerns the deviant activities of the titular little person (Torben Billie) and his twisted mother, notably their nefarious plans to imprison an innocent young woman, pump her full of heroin and sell her as a sex slave. This sleazy saga will leave you wanting to take a long shower afterward – ideally while being secretly watched by a sinful Danish dwarf with nefarious plans for you.
GRACE
Move over, Antichrist – here’s a real body horror movie.

Shane Sir Spam-Alot OMahony5 hours agoscrolled down and saw a PES v FIFA debate brewing so i thought id offer my 2 cents
now first il say that FIFA is superior currently since 2009 and offers the more realistic football experience where PES had dominated sincce 2004 by offering an arcade experience where the emphasis was on fun.HOw many times have you scored from 40 yards in a FIFA game
when you look at the head to head I say PES is Superior overall but FIFA looks set to overtake it if everything continues as it is
in my opinion here is the head to head
FIFA 2002 > PES1
FIFA 2003 > PES 2
PES 3 > FIFA 2004
PES 4 = FIFA 2005
PES 5 > FIFA 06
PES 6 > FIFA 2007

Fifa is getting better but i just think it's too fake. You can win the ball back too easily by holding the pressure button. Can only take the ball past a player by doing some crazy flick & every team plays the exact same no matter who plays for them.
If the lack of licencing doesn;t bother you then PES is far superior in my opinion. -
