- Viva! is a vegetarian/vegan non-profit organization which campaigns to end animal suffering, improve our health, protect the environment and bring fairness to the world’s poor by helping people stop eating animals and animal products.
Every year in Britain, more than 7 billion animals face the barbarity of slaughter - many fully conscious. Most spend their short, brutal lives in confinement, pain and misery.
We are determined to end cruelty to animals and to work for a saner, sustainable future. Through our solid research, undercover exposes and professional media skills, we are bringing the reality of modern farming into people’s homes. We have enlightened millions, shocked most and changed the diets of many. We have had many successes. Support Viva! and help us achieve even more.

Be a hero for the animals
Dear Activist
Here at the Viva! office, we have resources, expertise, experience and, of course, a compelling and irrefutable message - but unless we can get that message to the public, we will never achieve our aims. That’s where you come in. Your commitment, knowledge of your local area, and hands-on effort really communicates with people and is very much appreciated!
If you’re in an Animal Rights group, or would like to start one, email back and let us know – we’ve got lots of free posters, leaflets and magazines you can use for your campaign.
If you have a few hours to spare over a weekend, you could leaflet in your local town centre. Or maybe you could hold a veggie stall at your school during lunchtimes?
We’ve got lots of great leaflets and posters that are desperate to be out and about raising awareness of animal suffering and encouraging people to go veggie. If you have any ideas of ways to use them, all you have to do is email back and let us know how you want to get involved and then we’ll send you as many leaflets as you like – free of charge!
There are a number of things that you can do either individually or as part of a group that have a real and positive affect on reducing animal abuse:
* Order leaflets and guides from Viva! (free of charge) which you can give out to your family and friends .
* Make a display using eye catching posters, photos and drawings and have a petition to sign and leaflets for people to take away. You could have the display in you school or local library, sports centre or community centre.
* Write letters to your local newspaper, MP or even the Prime Minister explaining why you are outraged at the animal welfare conditions in this country or explaining why you are veggie.
* Ensure your school offers decent veggie food (encourage your friends to try it) if it doesn’t start your own “Veggie Lunch” campaign group!
* Find a teacher who is up for having a Viva! School Speaker come to your school to do a talk in one of your lessons about vegetarianism and get them to arrange that with us.
* Fundraise for the animals – make others aware of how poorly many animals are treated and ask for donations to help stop it!
* Create your own Animal Rights Website.
* Start your own Animal Rights Group.
I hope to hear from you soon.

Raise awareness at school!
Dear Activist
Summer is coming to an end, and the school term has started once again. I’m sure you took a shiny red apple in on the first day to present to your new teacher…No? Ok, how about some animal rights leaflets instead?
The Viva! office is jam-packed with leaflets promoting a veggie lifestyle and uncovering the truth behind factory farming. All we need is some amazing young activists to get the message out to the public…hmmm, where would I be able to find an amazing young activist? Well, I checked my Amazing Young Activist Database and guess what, your name came up, so I’m hoping you’ll be able to help.
All you have to do, is fill in the blanks below andemail it to fiona@viva.org.uk along with your address, I’ll pop your stuff in the post as soon as I get your email.
Promoting vegetarianism at your school could open the eyes of other students and encourage them to change their diet, every person you successfully educate saves 11,047 animals simply by not eating them. Imagine the possibility!
Thank you
Fiona x

Do you prefer leaflets with nice pictures on that are easy to look at but feature facts about animal abuse, or do you prefer shocking images that immediately make you rethink your diet?1 Reply 61 weeks

Warning for the vegans out there: Be careful when you buy anything form the Co-op bakery! They're currently selling an apple pie that says "suitable for vegans" on the front, yet on the back it claims it may contain dairy products.
I've complained once already, with no response. I've just sent off another complaint, so here's hoping they'll sort it out.
Hii!
