Join people from 81 countries around the globe in breaking the silence. From North America to Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, and Europe both men and women will become part of a collective voice, a voice that refuses to be ignored, a voice that says NO to violence against women and girls. Laugh and cry with the contradicting emotions of Eve Ensler’s award winning play The Vagina Monologues in a celebration of women’s own vagina stories such as The Flood and The Vulva Club.

Party through the night with DJ duet, Too Many Arron’s, bid in our mini charity auction or win prizes in the raffle from pamper party products to a bottle of bubbly! And remember proceeds from the V DAY benefit will go to the Women of New Orleans and Scottish Women’s Aid!!!!!!

  • The road to the monologues

    The road to the monologues has not been a smooth one and it is not over yet!!! Caroline, Karen, Sarah and Laura are all friends enrolled on the same university course. A course which specialises in management of 'the arts'. They decided to work together to create a ledgendary piece of theatre and a fantstic night out!
    The vagina monologues holds a special place in all of thier lives. It was the first and only play that Laura and her mother performed together. It was the first and only book that Caroline has read cover to cover without putting down! With Karen it is the first and only play she has produced in Edinburgh and for Sarah, it is the first and only bit if work that she has done!!! EVER!!! Only joking, we love you, Sarah!!!
    The fight to stop violence against women has been our motivaition throughout this whole process and when we have had set backs and thought about quitting, it has been a determiniation that kept us going. The very people who are supposed to support you, i.e a husband or parnter, should not be the person who puts you down and makes you feel worthless.

    This is the fight, become a vagina warrior and fight with us!!!! :)

    V-Day Edinburgh is proud to be a participant in the 2008 V-Day Campaign. We have been granted the rights for a V-Day production of Eve Ensler’s award winning play “The Vagina Monologues”.

    In 2007, V-Day happened in over 1087 venues around the world, with 2100 performances of “The Vagina Monologues.” In 2008 V-Day Edinburgh will be one of thousands of events around the world channelling their creative energy into making a difference as part of the V-Day Campaign. 2008 will mark the 10th anniversary of the global V-Day campaign. It is our intention to make V-Day Edinburgh 2008 a huge success.

    V-Day Edinburgh is putting on a performance of “The Vagina Monologues” in the Bongo Club, Edinburgh. To become a part of this global movement and help say NO to violence against women and girls join us on stage with a monologue.

    We have 13 monologues and three vagina facts to be performed and are looking for a strong female cast of all ages and acting backgrounds. Auditions will be held on Thursday 6th March at 99/3F1 Wanender Park Road near the Golf Tavern at 7pm.
