  • A good massage is everything...

    A good massage

I feel that a body massage is extremely underrated. Everyone needs some TLC and a good body massage is a great way to get it.

A massage boosts your well being as it can stimulate the release of endorphins, giving you a 'feel good' factor.

There are so many benefits to having a good massage, especially if it is done correctly and professionally.

It is important to have a detailed consultation with your massage therapist so he or she can discuss any medical issues and to determine which areas to focus on and any preferences of pressure you may have.

Firstly, the pressure must be right and a good massage therapist should ask you "Is the pressure is OK for you?" throughout the massage, or "would you like it more gentler or stronger?".

The best massage therapist are quite intuitive and usually know exactly how much pressure you need and even know which areas to concentrate on. There is nothing more irritating than having a massage by someone who just isn't even touching the area you want to be worked on the most or the pressure not being strong enough or in worst cases, hurting you.

The energy of the massage therapist is so important, a great massage therapist has a warm feeling which comes through their hands as they massage you.

Massage is a great way to help to release the toxins in your body, it stimulates the blood circulation to help the blood flow. It also helps increase lymphatic drainage thus removing waste and toxins.

Many people have nodes at the top of their shoulders, along the trapezius muscles and around the shoulder blade, these can be gently broken down by your massage therapist. There's usually a buildup of lactic acid. It's really important to drink plenty of water after your massage to flush away toxins.

  • Her lifestyle was the key...

Amazing skin, with such little work

A client of mine booked his mother in for a facial. He is 36 years old and I was expecting his mum to look older. I was amazingly shocked when I saw her, she looked around 39 herself.

She has no wrinkles or an ounce of sagging.
She had high eyebrows and cheekbones.

Mrs. S is lady who is about 53. She works full-time and has only used Vaseline, Petroleum Jelly on her skin. Her main concern was that her skin was feeling quite dehydrated, which didn't surprise me as the Vaseline Petroleum Jelly couldn't have been moisturizing, it was just coating the skin with a waterproof layer.

"Has she had surgery or Botox? What is her secret?"

I thought I'd probe deeper into why her skin looked and felt so great. I asked her a few questions and the more i began to probe, the more it slowly began to make sense!

I asked her if she enjoyed her work, she said she absolutely loved work and it was completely stress free. Mrs. S had been there for 14 years. She told me she walked to work and it took her 15 minutes each way, that's 30 minutes of walking per day.

I asked her about her eating habits, she said she was vegetarian, she ate rice, pulses, plenty of vegetables and drank plenty of water.

She didn't smoke or drink alcohol.....

....Enjoy your work, Eat Healthy & Enjoy your life!
