trombone poetry <trombonepoetry>
"impro/verse"

Much has been written about music and musicians. Now a musician writes back, playing and reading in a solo performance of trombone poetry.

Paul Taylor is a specialist in jazz and latin music, but draws on a career in countless other styles as well for this solo project where original poetry takes turns with improvised music.

From brass bands to big bands, from trad jazz to free improvising, from symphonies to salsa: Paul Taylor's musical journeys have taken him across Europe to Africa, and from the USA to Japan. This rich experience is distilled into a trunkful of poetry, bounced along in a free-wheeling performance of classic standards, original pieces, and spontaneous compositions.

A veteran of Ronnie Scott's, The Jazz Café, the Vortex Jazz Club, the 606 Club and the Royal Festival Hall, Taylor has also been a dedicated player on the Latin music scene, working worldwide with Columbian maestro Roberto Pla's Latin Ensemble, and with Snowboy & The Latin Section.
