Document scanning service?
I have approximately four file boxes' worth of documents (mostly old bills, receipts, etc.) that I'd like to get scanned to PDF in order to make more room in my file cabinet for new things. (My new one only has space for three file boxes' worth, and I intend to get rid of my old huge lateral file cabinet.)
I know I can legally get rid of most stuff older than three years -- but I might want to do some statistical analysis on this stuff many years from now. This is the only evidence that remains of my spending habits, say, 10 years ago. I'd like to keep them without hassle or cost.
So: has anyone used a document scanning service? There's many Google results, but any first-hand experience (good or bad) would be great. I'd like to just ship them boxes and get back a zip file of PDFs perfectly organized into folders and named by date.
Any other suggestions would be welcome, too... (anyone have a big MFC with PDF-email functionality that I can use for a day?
