  • THW visit Dublin

Some THW members visited Dublin for the Scotland 'B' game against the Republic of Ireland.

Those in attendance were: Craig, Moose, Mark, GI, Gary and a special guest appearance from GI's brother David.

The day started bright and early with a meetup at Glasgow airport. THW boys got the ball rolling with a 7am pint with their fryups, except Gary who was gay and got tea and Walker who was equally gay and got poof juice.

Into security and it wasnt long till GI and Craig got excited by the sight of a Ulrika Johnsson look-a-like taking her knee high boots off. Craig capped the moment by yelling "You can see down her top!" as she put her boots on, much to the embarrassment of everyone going through security.

GI thought he would be smart by sitting at the back of the plane. More leg room, quick exit at the back and perhaps the chance of some "special" service from the female air crew. Sadly they were all middle aged munters. Lesson learned.

THW lads were welcomed into Dublin airport by some free Bailey's samples in the duty free. Guess nobody told them the Scots were coming as one kilt clad fan after another joined the line for some free booze.

Next came the search for a taxi with the savy Mark and GI looking to get a quote for a decent price. Nobody seemed to tell Gary though, who bundled into the nearest cab. You could actually see the driver rubbing his hands with glee as the silly tourists piled in. Indeed, with the meter switched off, the cabby took us on the scenic route of Dublin, much to Craig's delight as the kids were going to school at this time. Eventually we escaped from the cab in the Temble Bar area, 50 euro's poorer and feeling financially raped.

Into the boozer next. "5 tequillas, 3 guniess, one bottle of beer (Gary) and one vodka and red bull (Craig) please." 50 euros please. Muggins GI got the first round. Fool. With the booze flowing, hilarious scenes soon followed as Craig inexplicably picked up a candle and spilled scalding hot wax over the hand of Moose and himself. This left Moose with grade A burns (how he didn't kick Craig's head in is a mystery) and Walker with a massive white patch of wax on his kilt which looked like a elephant had shot its load over him.

Realising that this pub was too expensive, THW boys moved on to a cheeper and alltogether tackier boozer for some rounds of pub golf. By this time GI's brother Dave had joined the party. On to another pub and the effects of drinking on an empty stomach were taking their toll on GI. Foolishly, he ordered another tequilla with horrendous consequences. A tailspin effect ensued and to put it mildely, GI was a goner.

With the vomiting drunkard in tow, THW moved onto another bar, but were quickly booted out when GI started spewing on a table.

Into another boozer then and the whole Scotland-on-tour atmosphere really kicked off with some sing songs.

Dave then went off to meet a friend, while the others headed off to the game. Craig was the only person to watch it all. Moose, Mark and Gary headed off at half time, complaning about the cold, while GI slept off his hangover and awoke at full time refreshed and ready for the night ahead.

The same could not be said for Gary and Mark, who truely let the side down by hitting the sack at just 11pm. Disgusted, the rest of the party headed back into the Temple Bar and quickly attracted the attention of the female bar-goers with their tartan attire. A group of girls from Southampton latched onto THW guys and a visit to several bars followed on. Highlights include Walker's dancing, GI getting being awarded the best arse (well there wasn't much competition with Craig and Moose), Moose breaking more glasses and a hilarious moment as gravity got the better of Craig. He fell backwards ontop of one of the girls, squashing her flat. It remains unknown how she survived. Anyway, there was more stuff, but its all a bit blury and this has got boring to write.

  • THW players make international debuts

Congratulations to Craig Walker and David Wildridge for being selected for the Tartan Army v Ukraine game, winning their first international caps in the process.

Unfortunatly, the Scots were pumped 3-1 by the hosts and Walker missed a sitter so bad, it made Ukrainian TV.
