Gun and knife violence by young people, some barely in their teens, continues to scar Britain in the 21st century. Grieving families who have lost loved ones due to senseless violent crime demand immediate action to stop more lives being wasted.
In 2008, the families Damilola Taylor and Robert Levy came together with a passionate wish to recruit and unite others as one voice to champion personal and social responsibility, and unite to say together:
With the help of the Foundation for Social Improvement (FSI), they formed a coalition called Through UNITY, an extended family of families.
This powerful united voice of bereaved families demands weapons off the streets, creating communities where our young people can be safe and flourish. We believe that education is the key to open opportunities, change attitudes and build a better safer future.
