  • Opening Dates 2009

    This year theme parks in the UK are open for longer than ever before, the main 2009 theme park season kicks off in March with the launch of new rides and attractions and draws to a close in November with a variety of special events, here are some key dates for your diary:

    Alton Towers: 28th March - 1st November

    Thorpe Park: 14th March 2009 - 8th November

    Chessington World of Adventures: 28th March - 2nd November

    Drayton Manor: 21st March - 1st November

    Legoland Windsor: 21st March - 1st November

    Throughout the year we'll keep you up to date with all the latest theme park goings on, from eggstraordinary Easter events and live Summer shows, to spooktacular Halloween surprises and season finale Fireworks, we're your independent guide to UK theme parks.

  • February Half Term 2009

    Alton Towers Hullabaloo - Treat the kids to some half term excitement when some of the most famous rides at Alton Towers will be open for all the family to enjoy! Rides available include Nemesis, Oblivion, Spinball Whizzer, Runaway Mine Train, Hex, Duel, and Blade.

    Thorpe Park Thrill Chill - Some hair-raising rides will be available for thrill hunters in need of a fix to banish the winter blues! Rides available include Stealth, Colossus, Rush, Detonator, Vortex, X:\No Way Out, Zodiac, Mr Monkey's Banana Ride, and the Chief Rangers Carousel.

    Chessington Zoo Days - Open from 10am until 3pm, visit Chessington Zoo and Sea Life Centre to encounter many magical animal experiences. You'll see everything from Asiatic Lions and Sumatran Tigers to majestic sharks and magnificent stingrays. Plus great live shows!
