Me, Myself, and I
The lost highway hails from Glasgow, Scotland and has been running since 2002. Many shows have been played, albums released including a commercial release on Armalyte Industries label, & a video single produced. The sound from earlier years incorporated an Industrial dance feel but after a brief hiatus the highway re-appeared in 2008 with new dynamics in terms of sound and fresh new ideals. Work has now been completed for the new release which is why the 13 new tracks for this particular album are now being showcased on Bebo. The title for said release is of course 'Tales from an abandoned airport terminal'.

The lost highway - 'Tales from an abandoned airport terminal'

Once in a while, that incredible CD comes out and you can't exactly put a finger on exactly what it is that makes this so memorable. The songs are written so well with such musicality that you swear that you've had to have heard each one of them at some time in your life, (if not in some other life). A CD where extraneous noise is forgotten and replaced with well-placed, simple instrumentation that sings its own verses with the lyrics. A CD that even though you may listen to it too often to bear to give it one more play, you know that someday you will pick it up again and its beautiful chords within will sound as sweet the next time. This is one of those CD's.

And you know that every American CD that makes it in the states has one radio-friendly pop song that doesn't get old. Just listen to "View From Thermal Flight." You'll play it again and again. Excellently placed music work makes the lyrics of "Coastline" quite profound before the CD turns to a place of encouragement. A ray of sunlight is seen at the end when "Broken Goblins" assures you that everything will be all right with this CD.
Everything said, it garners my vote as one of the great CD's of I have reviewed and I can only wait for the next release of an American artist featuring a catch pop release wrapped up in an incredible full-length CD!

Well that's it finished, the master CD is now with the company who have the artwork and very shortly the production line will be in full flow. I'm looking forward to the first big box of CD's arriving as apparantly they will all be cellwrapped for extra shiny gloss.

Since the end of February I've really put the work in on this one and had to make some decisions as how this album was going to shape up. I've had to drop the track Keyser Soze on the basis that I haven't seeked permision from the original artist to sample her voice and didn't want to take the risk of getting involved in any copyright law issues. Fortunately I do have a ready made replacement at the 24th hour with the excellent (if oddly titled) track 'broken goblins' which came together nicely, so in terms of 13 tracks nothing has changed.

The business side takes over now and I've struck a deal with phone company to sell ringtones, so far 'What brings you here' is available for $0.99. I'm in the process of negotiating distribution rights for the CD release & will attempting to join itunes at some point for distribution so I'll keep you all updated.

The CD of course will be available through the official highway website and those facilities will be up and running and ready on release day. At the moment I'm not taking pre-orders but with events currently moving at such a fast pace all that could change.

Here is to the lost highway :)
