- The story so far of a band "The Ginger Hitlas” unable 2 get girls six non gingers decided to form a band.
The clash of personalities was evident from the start with every member of this band wanting 2 “show off” & with careful nurturing a sound was born out of pure accident & alcohol (screech cider).The music flowed and so did the screech the rehearsals were tough as we couldn’t find the door after we’d finished playing.
The name “the Ginger Hitlas” came about during a game of thinkin up names for a band which is a great game at 1am in the morning after being up town.
The name ginger came from the lack of ginger hair (some of us no hair) and of course we support ginger rights and anything orange, and we like people to wear orange at our gigs as a sign of support.
The name Hitlas (its spelt different) comes from the words Hit & lass’ putting the two words together was totally stupid but it seemed to work, the word the comes from "the".

The first gig was great it went down well with a crowd that didn’t expect we would turn up let alone be able to play anything audible we even surprised ourselves, from then on we knew it was working. Gig after gig the response was getting louder and more and more fun.
