- Te Karere Ipurangi ( http://www.maorinews.com/karere ) is the oldest and most visited Maori news website. It grew out of the very first Maori website, "From Hawaiki to Hawaiki" ( now at http://www.maaori.com ) which expanded as we experimented with different services for Maori on the Web. Te Karere Ipurangi was one of the experiments which has endured.
Of course in those early days from 1994 onwards there weren't many Maori online but now there are tens of thousands of us.
Te Karere Ipurangi has recently been brought out of the web dark ages into the world of Web 2.0 and social networking. It is now networked through Bebo, Facebook and Twitter. We'll be working on new enhancements in the coming months.
We're still developing our page here on Bebo to bring you our news service.
