It was great! We had an awesome camp. It was small but we had fun. And we're gonna grow it. We went swimming, fishing, kayaking, tramping , caving, serving, cooking, kiteflying, painting, sleepouts in the bush. Man it was crazy. We even slept sometimes!
We told stories and talked about Jesus and prayed and appreciated the world God gave us.
We made sculptures in the sand and volcanoes on the beach at night and looked up at the stars. And even though we couldn't use our cellphones it was like God texted us a message everyday to say "look around you - I'm here!"

If you're interested in being part of the new thing at the old Harvest let us know, Over 18s can apply as leaders or workers, 11-15 can come as campers, 16 & 17 can apply as junior ldrs.

We changed. Well YFC changed. We became Incedo. We changed some thing about the way we look at ourselves and how we do stuff. We don't majopr on programmes anymore. we want to major on people. Some programmes still happen. Some don't - like Harvest. Sometimes you gotta stop everything to see whats new and better. Breakaway Summer is our next step for a summer camp. It taps into our Rock SOlid clubs that go all year round. Its not so much the rah rah bands and speakers stuff (which was good for the time) but more about relationships, adventure and experiencing Jesus in other ways. Some of the groups that used to come to summer Harvest have thought up other ways to do New Year like Elim who are starting Solar camp. Cool stuff.
We're starting out humbly, not over new year and wanting to help young people start walking with Jesus, one step at a time. COs thats what we're doing in each of our own lives and inviting kids to join us on our faith adventure. Neat ay?

Ok we're wanting to get a cool name for our new camp to replace summer harvest. Here's the deal. I am initiating the brochure design this week and all thats needed is a name we can use into the future. If you come up with the name we like the most we will let you come to the camp free and bring 1 young person aged 11-16 who needs a kiwi camping experience free as well.
The basic details of the camp.
Will be run just after new year - will be 5 or 6 days - will be adventure/activity based (eg caving/ kayaking/ fishing/ sleep under stars/ cookouts etc)- will include service project - will be at the beach - in tents - intense - god space experiences - for young people aged 11 (year 7) to 16 (yr 11) - emphasis on unchurched through Rock Solid clubs/ korean homestays/ deprived kids through agencies like Dingwall home and also intermediate yth grps/
What we want is a simple one or 2 word name, one that can serve us for a while even if the camp morphs a bit in years to come, and yes, maybe has a hidden meaning.
