- Stone throwing youths are:
Brian Casey guitars and vocals,
Brian Casey: bass and backing vocals,
and Brian casey drums and whatever else, you get the picture!
So after my last band Mannikin disbanded (no pun intended), I've been pretty quiet on the music front.
I was writing songs away, and said I'd record some for the laugh.
Gigs are now being booked, and expect anything and everything to be gracing the stages of the country shortly. Maybe there'll be 3 musicians, maybe there'll
be two, maybe there'll be one, maybe there'll be a video cast of a robotic technicolour dream show, but without any doubt, THERE WILL BE ROCK!
Stone Throwing Youths, self-titled release number one, Available to purchase, NOW!

Stone Throwing Youths +Chickenfoot live in the Marquee Cork (the aftermath!)
Its been a bit of a busy week really! Having nonchalantly lobbed a CD into Cork's red fm for a competition to support Chickenfoot in the Marquee (and never expecting to win it), it turns out that Stone Throwing Youths was in fact picked for the final three. The proverbial fire was lit under my ass and the process of teaching the entire set to old friend, bad ass drummer and new comer to Stone Throwing Youths, Darragh Coakley.
By pure co-incidence we had been jamming on a few covers earlier in the week and had enjoyed it so we were full of enthusiasm about the Chickenfoot support.
After 4 or so days of coke drinking and cornetto eating we emerged, quietly confident that we wouldn't embarrass ourselves!
The gig proved to be great fun, and one of the most enjoyable sets so far. Almost everyone in the audience paid attension which was nice and a few even engaged in a little Banter.
Afterwards Chickenfoot dished out a pro set of good old fashioned rock, and Chad Smith threw more drum sticks into the crowd than you could, well, shake a stick at! They were sound men as well. Thanks to lead singer Sammy for pointing out that I should probably get some more musicians as I "got alot to do up there."
More gigs will be planned for this summer, and Stone Throwing Youths appears to be settling into a 2 person band, guitars and drums.
Plans are commencing for some local gigs at home, nothing too fancy just for fun!
See you at the next one hopefully!

Wheelan's, herritage center etc...
So there was a gig in Wheelan's last Friday, it was quite fun and quite experimental.
The occasion was the launch of Herritage center's new single, and there was a packed crowd in wheelan's to see them. It was good fun. The Stone Throwing youths set consisted of a solo effort on guitar and vocals, alot of looping and it may or may not have involved a cover of a prodogy song. Every other song bar one was new, never heard before, straight out of the pipe line. The new mateerial went well, and hopefully in the coming months a new s et will be put together involving these songs, and a drummer.
Thanks to everyone who came out, and thanks for receiving the new mateerial so warmly.
Till next time,

Radio city, Radio session, Limerick gig...
Its been a busy week really....Besides the trivial college asignments etc, there's been one smashing gig in Dublin's radio city in which we discovered that Paul's bulletproof base in fact has a rainbow on it (not a tricolour), also we found out that punk bands like to do some pritty rude things on stage while playing gay bar!
Role on to Thursday and a pretty long ass train journey finds me in Limerick of all places.
After dropping our gear to the venue, Baker place, we headed to Limerick live 95 fm to do an acoustic session for the Green and Live radio show. It went smashingly and was alot of fun. Thanks to Joe for letting me borrow his acoustic guitar (times were bad!). The acoustic session will be featured on green and live at some point on a Friday night coming soon!
Afterwards we sped back to baker place where we chilled around alot waiting to sound check. After a breef check we had time to talk tactics quickly and we were back on to play to a very enthusiastic audience. Afterwards we were treated to a great set by Killkenny band Saving J who played a blindder. Baker place is a class venue and we expect to be back there soon for those of you who may be interested.
Thanks to everyone for coming along to the gigs, Thanks to Alan in live 95, thanks to everyone who bought a cd, thanks to Paul for playing bass in Radio city and Ronan in Limerick, and thank God there's two weeks off now to pass the college year!
Note: There will be new acoustic tracks uploaded in the coming days, along with news of the next Stone Throwing Youths release.
Stay tuned!
Brian.
