Alec smiled gingerly as Magnus took the cup away from him, as he really didn't believe that he hadn't woken up Magnus. He really had tried to be quiet, though. "You sound surprised." The boy pointed out, his eyes soft and somewhat amused as he sat back down on the sofa beside Magnus. It always made him feel a little guilty though, when Magnus sounded so surprised when he did something for him but Alec was slowly learning to not over think little things like that anymore - he just didn't want to risk it all again. Alec sipped at his hot chocolate, which had no sugar in it and more milk than chocolate powder. Personally, he preferred black coffee... or tea. "Oh, I um... I tidied the kitchen, hallway and bathroom. There's still things you'll need to fix with magic, but it's mostly done." He said with a shy smile.

(Omg, I can't wait to see one here :') ) After the hour had passed Alec had successfully managed to clean up almost the entire kitchen. There were a few broken things that Magnus would have to fix with magic later, but everything was tidy and at least useable again. He also managed to get the hallway back together and the bathroom but that had mostly just been picking up the hundreds of different beauty products Magnus had from the floor. He went back into the kitchen then and made them both hot chocolates, adding the marshmallows he knew Magnus liked before taking it into the lounge. "Did I wake you up?" Alec murmured guilty as he saw Magnus waking up and he nibbled his lips as he gently passed the warlock the hot chocolate. "I thought you might want one."

Alec gave a sheepish smile. He wanted so much to get Magnus the most perfect ring, something that he could remember him by, something that he could hopefully put into his trunk of memories. When he looked down next it was to the sight of Magnus asleep against his chest. He must have fallen asleep while Alec had been lost in his own thoughts and the boy couldn't help but to smile softly. He gently began stroking his boyfriends hair with one hand while the other still rested inside of Magnus', stroking his thumb back and forth over the top of his hand and kissing his temple. Alec stayed awake while Magnus slept and after a few hours had passed he eased him gently down onto the sofa and covered him with a blanket before quietly moving to tidy up the rest of the apartment.

Alec gave a shy smile as Magnus told him it wasn't awful to feel the way that he was and it comforted him to know that he wasn't being a bad person for feeling it. It was exciting to know he'd be the first person to give Magnus something for the only time in their relationship - or as far as he knew. "O-Okay." Alec said, suddenly nervous about choosing a ring that Magnus would like. He couldn't even pick things out for himself let alone other people and Magnus wasn't exactly... average with his choices. He would find something. "I'll try my best to find something special." The boy smiled softly and looked down to his own precious ring, the one he already adored so much.

As Magnus smiled of course Alec couldn't help but to smile gently down at him in return. He was honestly just happy to see that smile on his boyfriend's handsome face again.. or should he say, fiance. "Yeah... I mean, I know we can't get married properly... but we'll be married in our eyes, so, you should get to have a ring too. You deserve to have one." Alec said softly and looked down to Magnus' ring, scanning over each of the designs and colours, before looking up to the man with shock in his bright blue orbs. "You've- you've never had somebody give you a ring before?" He murmured with sadness and surprise in his voice but Alec found un-believably joy in the fact that he'd get to give something special to Magnus, to get to be his first for at least something. "I-Is it awful that I'm happy to be the first person to give you one?" He asked with a slight flush to his cheeks and squeezed Magnus' hands. "Do you want to come and pick one out... or be surprised?"

Alec smiled softly to himself as Magnus replied and he watched as he then turned the TV on and settled on something for them to watch together. The blue eyed boy watched for a moment but he couldn't help but to avert his gaze when he saw Magnus stroking the little mouse that had been Chairman's. Alec lent it, softly kissing his boyfriends cheek and stroking the top of his arm gently with his fingertips. He knew that Magnus would be okay, but Alec hated the thought that he had had to suffer so much in his long life. "I'm going to get you a ring soon, so that you can have one from me." He murmured with a comforting smile on his lips.

Alec playfully scowled at Magnus when he spoke of picking out a wedding dress. "Never going to happen." He stated but ended up breaking out into a smile, because it was nice to see a bit of happiness back upon his boyfriend's features. It was painful to watch him in pain, and this was only a fraction of what Magnus had endured in the past. Alec's eyes flickered down to his ring them, watching the bright blue stone glimmer and shine and his eyes softened. "I love you." He murmured without thinking, a delicate smile on his lips.

"Yeah..." Alec murmured quietly and made sure there was a smile on his lips when he did so, he didn't want to give Magnus any reason to think negatively today. Even for Alec it was hard to think about how many deaths Magnus had lived through, how many people he had lost and grieved for, and that was only imagining it. Alec's hand trailed down to Magnus' hip as he felt the kiss to his jawline and he squeezed his waist softly in comfort. "Yeah, whatever you want." He promised but paused for a moment. "You're going to make me watch America's Next Top Model again, aren't you?"

Alec chuckled embarrassedly at his own confession - man, Jace would make jokes at him forever if he had heard what Alec had just said - but as Magnus settled his head onto his shoulder the boy relaxed again and wrapped his arms around him a little firmer to give him a soft squeeze, tracing his fingertips gently up and down one of Magnus' tanned arms. "Well, um... a puppy, then?" He suggested with a soft smile, his voice lighter, because he knew having a puppy and a kitten would cheer Magnus up some. "We could go and look at them tomorrow or something, after we've seen my family?"

Alec looked back down to Magnus as he spoke, a small amount of surprise in his bright eyes that soon turned to thought. "Oh- well, umm...." His hand still softly moved against Magnus' back and after a moment he nibbled his lip. "... I've always thought puppies were kind of cute. But I guess cats and dogs don't really get along too well." He thought out loud, still thinking really. "...bunnies are cute, too." Alec quietly mumbled, because it was perhaps the least Shadowhunter thing to come from his lips.

Alec smiled a little at that and let Magnus adjust them until the warlocks head was rested beneath his chin. It was things like this that always made it so obvious when Magnus needed to be looked after, because it happened so rarely. Alec wrapped his arms around his boyfriends frame and gently stroked one of his hands soothingly up and down his back, kissing his sparkling hair.

"Maybe." Alec chuckled softly and helped Magnus with the rest of the room before sitting back down beside him on the couch. The boy moved in close so that their shoulders and thighs were touching and leant in to press an affectionate kiss to his cheek. "Anything I can do to make you feel better?" He asked almost guiltily, because he hated seeing Magnus like this, even if it wasn't his fault this time.

Alec smiled a little as Magnus kissed his cheek and he lightly touched the shimmering scarf he had put around his neck. "If you're sure..." He whispered with genuine concern in his voice and looked down to the scarf. "I suppose green isn't too bad." Alec mumbled apparently to himself, crinkling his nose up at the sparkles but he gently hung it back up next to the others so that he could help Magnus clean up the rest of the room. However it seemed that whenever he went to pick something up Magnus magicked it into the correct place, and he did so without even realising it. "You would be a great person to have around when moving house." He teased gently, trying to lighten the mood for him.

Alec looked up when Magnus spoke and nodded a little, hoping that he wouldn't notice the shattered mirror only a metre away from them. Though Alec guessed Magnus was old enough that he didn't really believe in superstitious nonsense anymore. Alec didn't even know if he did himself. "Yeah... I mean it's not like we're actually allowed to get married..." Alec sighed a little, because he wished all of this wasn't frowned upon, he wished that he wouldn't get his marks stripped away from him should they decide for it to happen. The boy shivered a little at the thought but gave Magnus a small, soft smile. "So they can't say anything bad, I'm not in danger." He murmured and blinked his wide eyes as the shimmering green scarf wrapped around his neck. "You're grieving, I can't be mean to you when you're grieving." Alec pointed out with a small pout.

Alec pushed back up the bookcase that had fallen down and began putting all the books neatly back inside in a way that was just typically Alec. "Better?" He murmured as he saw Magnus had finished his drink and gave a sympathetic smile before finishing off with all the books and saved the ornaments from the floor that weren't broken and put them back on top of the bookcase. Alec was surprised that he remembered where everything went so well. He picked up papers and put everything that wasn't broken back into it's place, but of course Magnus easily got his attention. The blue eyed boy looked down to his ring. "Yeah... yeah I guess they will. They'll freak out." Alec guessed but smiled a little as he remembered what the ring meant for them, "I'll explain it to them."

"No, I... I just meant how your place wasn't being protected, is all." Alec murmured with a small shrug because although they hadn't been there, he had thought that Magnus' apartment would have been a pretty obvious place to look out for. He would speak to Isabelle and Jace irregardless. Alec got up after a moment and quietly began tidying things up around the living room, picking up some of the broken glass like it didn't even faze him and throwing it in the trash so that nobody could step on it.
