Skerryvore co-wrote & recorded this track as part of the BBC Alba series A'Gharaids with Norrie MacIver and Paul McLaughlin. It became an instant hit with viewers and has since been shown on BBC2. CHICAGO GETS READY FOR SKERRYVORE!
BAND TO PERFORM AT ST ANDREWS SOCIETY EVENT
Skerryvore return to the USA this month to perform at one of the oldest St Andrews’ societies in America. The Illinois St Andrews’ Society will be celebrating their 165th year and Skerryvore have been invited to perform at the special event. It will be the band’s first trip to the States since performing at the Ryder Cup in Louisville in 2008 and we are all very much looking forward to it!!

SCOTS TRAD MUSIC AWARDS 2009 – A' Gharaids' Nominated for Award!
We’ve had some fantastic news about the BBC Alba series that the band took part in last year – A’ Gharaids. It had loads of great feedback, caused controversy in the Trad music world (always a good thing!) and now it’s been nominated for the Media Award in this year’s Scots Trad Music Awards which take place the weekend of the 27-29 November. It was a great experience for the band co-writing and performing the song ‘Hold Your Breath’ with Norrie and Paul so it would be tremendous for the show to win this award. The voting has just started and runs to the 20th November, and we’d really appreciate it if you would tell your friends, fans, facebooks, twitters, aunties, stalkers and everyone else that knows about A’Gharaids and encourage them to vote for the show. It’s always a hard-fought vote, and every one really does count, so your support would be much appreciated.

SKERRYVORE WIN PSYBT AWARD!
SKERRYVORE ARE VOTED ARGYLL'S TOP YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS!
After a great trip to China, Skerryvore returned to Scotland to recieve some great news! The band have been named Argyll’s top young entrepreneurs at the regional finals of the 2009 Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT) ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ Awards.
Martin Gillespie, Daniel Gillespie, Alec Dalglish and Fraser West, founders of Skerryvore were announced as regional winners at a ceremony at the Council Chambers in Lochgilphead and presented with £1000 cash prize by the award sponsors, FirstPoint USA. The band will now be considered by the judging panel to be entered into the national final taking place at Glasgow’s City Chambers on Wednesday 18th November 2009. Six of the 18 regional winners are selected to compete for the coveted national title of PSYBT ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ and the opportunity to win an additional £2000.
Everyone at Skerryvore would like to say a massive thankyou to everyone for supporting the band during 2009 and especially to the PSYBT for their assistance over the past few years.
