| There are 150 nuclear bombs at Faslane only 30 miles from Glasgow. Gordon Brown wants to build more, and he wants to keep them in Scotland for the next 50 years.
Scottish Youth CND is working to make Scotland free from nuclear bombs and nuclear power stations. We are part of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND).
On 14 June 2007 the Scottish Parliament voted to oppose Gordon Brown’s plan for new nuclear weapons. But the Parliament in Edinburgh does not have the power to stop this. | Gender | Age | | | Male | 20 | | | Last Active | Profile Views | | 1 day | 469 times | | | Share the Luv | | | 3 |

Civic Reception for SCND 50th anniversary

Glasgow City Chambers. Civic reception from Glasgow City Council to mark the 50th anniversary of Scottish CND. | | | scared of | | nuclear weapons | | | music | | Scottish CND has won support from world famous group “James” on their forthcoming Scottish tour – Edinburgh, Corn Exchange, 24th April; Aberdeen, Exhibition Centre, 25th April. http://www.wearejames.com
Lorna Waite of Scottish CND says “We will be present at James’ forthcoming gigs with funky t-shirts, peace badges, and a striking visual presence on stage. All monies raised will go towards getting rid of Trident from Scotland.’’
Frontman Tim Booth sings on “Hey Ma”, the new James album, “war is just about business”. The replacement cost of Trident of over £100 billion makes this all too clear. Andy Diagram, trumpet player, says ‘We’re very happy to be celebrating Scottish CND’s 50th birthday and contributing to the public debate on Trident.’
Fifty years of nonviolent, peaceful protest has led to a historic vote in the Scottish Parliament. In 2007 MSPs called upon the UK government not to renew Trident based at Faslane on the Firth of Clyde near Glasgow. All of the UK’s | | | Meetings | | Edinburgh CND meeting
