Greetings to all,
We hope yall had a great Christmas and are having an amazing start to 2009. Post Mortum finished up 2008 with the Wreck the Halls Tour. We had an incredible time with our friends in White Collar Sideshow (
www.whitecollarsideshow.com), and together, it was simply amazing to hang out and play for yall. We will have pictures and video blogs posted soon...
Since the day after arriving home from Wrecking the Halls, we have diligently been in the studio with producer Ben Cybulsky mixing and mastering the new material. Originally, the plan was to track a new song at Dallas Sound Lab, add it to Road Ahead, and re-release the album on Bulwark Records this past November. However, as often they do, plans change. Through all of the trials we faced along with all of the growing and learning we experienced in 2008, many of the songs have taken on a new and deeper meaning to each of us. As we have been growing and changing, so have the songs we continue to play off of Road Ahead. After tracking the new song and working with Bulwark Records and our producer Ben, we decided to keep right on tracking, and we went on to track nearly the entire album again including violin tracks throughout the whole record. We eliminated a couple tracks, added a couple tracks, and restructured all of the tracks. This is honestly the most effort we have ever put into anything we’ve ever done to date. It has taken a lot longer than anticipated, however, we are extremely pleased with the outcome, and pretty sure yall will be as well. We really can’t wait to get this music into your ears...
With the complete new direction the album has gone, we, along with our management and label, have decided to rename the record entirely. “Rise Above Ruin”, Post Mortum’s official release on Bulwark Records, will be available everywhere on March 3, 2009. We have so much in store for this year. January 19th the first track off Rise Above Ruin will be posted on our official Myspace. The artwork and track listing will be released very soon, as well as tons of tour dates. As always, we will be touring extensively, this time more so than ever. If you’d like to see us in your city, make sure you Demand Us! Also check out our ever growing list of other profiles as well. We can’t thank yall enough for climbing aboard and growing right alongside of us over the past four years and being the plot to our story...
Together, we will rise above ruin..
