About Me

Me, Myself, and I
Penny Broadhurst believes in hooks, harmonies and all-out pop music, and hates it when all the songs sound the same. She makes pop records, fanzines and crafty things (the latter an occasional pursuit). She is neither an acoustic singer-songwriter nor an electro act, despite mistaken reports to the contrary. Her new live band is The Maffickers - look out for Penny Broadhurst & The Maffickers at a venue near you soon. Are you a Mafficker?

Penny has played Wireless, Indietracks, Latitude, Truck, Moor Music, Solfest, Ladyfest and Glastonbury festivals and been played on BBC Radio 1, Xfm, BBC 6 Music, Dandelion Radio, Radio Magnetic etc as well as local and internet radio stations. She was shortlisted by the BBC World Service for their Next Big Things of 2007 and the Guardian wrote an introducing sort of piece about her, which got some things wrong but was still very nice.

Penny Broadhurst & The Maffickers are available for records, gigs and picnics.
