"Sometimes a lie is more beautiful than the truth..."

Bebo - official sponsors of the St Andrew's Academy Class of 97 reunion...

What have I done with myself in the intervening years? Went to Glasgow to become a lawyer, and decided I never wanted to become a solicitor. Went to Cambridge to become an academic, only to have my supervisor die on me. Went to the London School of Economics to study terrorism, and that's when things got uncomfortable. Someone was obviously trying to tell me something. In the end I decided to give it all up for something far more ethical than being a lawyer. So now I'm a professional assassin.

Nah, not really. Currently working by day in a law firm, and by night as a writer. One puts food on the table and the other I love. No prizes for guessing which is which. Also managed to get married, unbelievably...

If you want to get in touch, message me through here, Facebook, Myspace, either of my websites, my podcast when I record it... I'm pretty easy to get in touch with.

Three weeks today!
Three weeks to go. By this time in three weeks I will have finished the race, definitely in under 55 minutes, and with a wee bit of luck in just under 50 minutes (but let's not get crazy...)

However, with three weeks to go I am only just over half-way through the fundraising!

I blame myself really, I haven't been mugging old ladies, robbing banks, or sending out reminder e-mails (in order of reprehensibility) so perhaps it's time to do that?

It is, after all, for charity folks. So, if you haven't donated and would like to, then go to this address:

http://www.justgiving.com/paulanders...

Give what you can, if you would like to help out. Race pictures will be posted as soon as they come available.

You'll even be able to see the tattoo, if you donate and ask nicely!

BUPA London 10,000
London, Monday 26th May 2008...

I'm taking part in the BUPA London 10,000 - a new 10k road race around London, starting at St James' Park and ending at Pall Mall.

I am running on behalf of The British Red Cross (the British Red Cross is a registered charity, number 220949).

The British Red Cross is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the world's largest independent humanitarian organisation. For more information, please visit http://www.redcross.org.uk/

If you would like to sponsor me and donate to the work of the British Red Cross at home and internationally, then please visit my JustGiving page.

If you are UK resident, please consider using GiftAid, to ensure that any tax on your donation is returned to the charity.

Thanks!

Updates...
NaNoWriMo 2007 - not the stupidest idea I've ever had (there are far better candidates) but I'm taking part in the annual "novel in 30 days" marathon. More details at http://www.nanowrimo.org

Podcasts - the first one is live, and holy crap it is bad. The morbidly curious can find it at http://www.paulanderson.org.uk/podca... - the criminally insane can even subscribe to it through iTunes or other good podcast aggregators.

If anyone is down in the London area on the weekend of 3 November and wants to drink alcohol whilst burning things, then drop me a line. Although me + alcohol + fire is possibly not the best combination...

Am I insane/masochistic/stupid enough to take part in NaNoWriMo this year?
a) Yes, I have always considered you psychotic enough to put yourself through hell for no tangible gain
b) No you lunatic! Think of your mental health. Your family. Your job. Dumbass.
c) WTF is a NaNoWriMo?

Ha ha ha how did you know, have you been spying on me?! I'm totally stressed about the wedding, will be glad when it's all over!

Yup - wee Emma's not so wee any more! She's taken to running everywhere, and it's a nightmare trying to keep up with her! Keeps me fit though I suppose .....

Good luck with the books :)

Check this out brother, it might appeal to you.....

A Glaswegian artist called Sandy Smith has started a competition where you’ve to write an essay proving that the shite film Junior (Arnie gets pregnant) is the best film ever!

Here's the link dude....

Ha ha maybe not the best idea, standing around with a camera! Yeah, really just the approach that's different. That and the fact they make you put all your liquids (and SAVLON!!) in wee plastic bags .... cos that obviously makes them safer .....

Ah, makes sense now! OK ..... you know the roundabout you get to when you're entering the airport vicinity (the one at the Holiday Inn)? You used to be able to turn left there and go right to the doors? You can't do that any more - you have to go left and be dropped off at the entrance to the multi-storey car park. You then need to walk through the car park, then past where the taxis used to be able to drop you off, then go in the main entrance as normal. One of the sets of doors is still closed off though.

If that doesn't make sense let me know and I'll take a pic on my mobile or something haha. And let me know if you need any more info - I'm back home today, then back down to London on Monday.

Good luck with the writing!

Good point. I may change it again. This has been my burden to bear throughout life - the inability to make a decision. It's a curse, I tell you!!

Hiya!

How u doin?

Random question time again!!! Being that you live in London I thought you could help me with this query....

If flying into Luton (to take advantage of the cheap cheap flight tickets!), how easy/hard is it to get into the city, say Kings Cross or near a tube station? Any ideas?

Laura McKenzie
Good .... sounds like a helluva challenge though!

Yeah, I was gutted to miss the night out - hopefully not have to wait 10 years for the next one ... i'll have a walking stick by then!
