- Kings of the South Pacific with 10 Top 20 singles hits in the 1980's and early 1990's Herbs with there 1980's hit "FRENCH LETTER" (which sat in the the charts for 11weeks) spreading there Vibes in how we all felt and taking our stand in the war against NUCLEAR TESTING.
HERBS have been very fortunate to not only play along side but make life long Brothers with the likes of UB40, whom all still keep in contact with any little chance they can get in there busy lives, not to mention giging along side other International Musicians such as Tina Turner, Taj Mahal and Stevie Wonder just to name a few. Also more of there earlier hits the middle 80's such as "Slice of Heaven" along side DAVE DOBBYN reaching NO#1 on both NZ and Aussie Charts, in 1989 Tim Finn calabarated with Herbs for "Parihaka" then coming in to the early 90's Annie Crummer joined the Boys and fronted the Huge Hit "SEE WHAT LOVE CAN DO" along side our dearly beloved brother and lead singer CHARLIE TUMAHAI may he R.I.P

One of the best bands to come out of NZ,my fav Herbs songs are "Listen" and "Nuclear waste".Was devastated when I first heard of Charlie's death and then Fred's passing who I understand was one of the original band members. RIP Fred and Charlie
