Nuclear weapons
A nuclear weapon is a type of explosive weapon that derives its destructive force from nuclear reactions of fusion or fission. As a result, even a nuclear weapon with a small yield is significantly more powerful than the largest conventional explosives, and a single weapon is capable of destroying an entire city. Two nuclear weapons have been detonated so far, both by the United States of America, when they dropped a uranium gun-type device code-named "Little Boy" on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The second was detonated three days later when the United States dropped a plutonium implosion-type device code-named "Fat Man" on the city of Nagasaki. These bombings instantly resulted in around 120,000 deaths of people from injuries sustained from the explosion and acute radiation sickness, and even more deaths over time from long-term effects of radiation.

	Sam Browne Lads,there is NO WAY IN HELL that 1 mil American soldiers could POSSIBLY have been killed by an army made up predominately of starving old men,children,and the odd pregnant woman or two,people talk of the "Samurai mentality" whereby they fight to the last man,Japan had that mentality but evidently they did not fight to the last man,if they were going to fight to the last man then more nukes would have been dropped,let's be brutally honest now,1 million well-trained,well equipped (Equipped well enough to have nukes) battle-hardened soldiers,were going to die at the hands of the previously mentioned Japanese "army". Not likely,if you even have nukes in the first place and your enemies don't then the outcome is obvious.

	Danny D Iv already expressed my doubts that 1,000,000 battle hardend, well trained, well equipt American troopers would have been killed by the half starved, war weary Japanese, so lets not go repeating ourselves, it gets rather boring. And history has been very good indeed to Churchill, despite his major fuckup at Galipoli (a battle between the British and Turkish in W.W 1) wich cost the lives of thousands. And his alcoholism.

	Danny D Too right Jade! And something I recently found out (from an English made documentary) is that Japan DID in fact send a war declaration, contrary to popular belief. But due to a mix up it arrived 5 minits after the attack had ended.
