2011 Volvo V50 Interior, Exterior Styling
Designers have made some alterations to the vehicle’s interior with a nod towards the Scandinavian heritage that features an emphasis on a clean look, with surfaced uncluttered with unnecessary items, the use of basic materials and good functionality. The V50 (along with the V40) was the first of the models in this company to offer the free-floating centre console that had an illuminated storage area at the rear of the compartment. Its ultra slim design belies that fact that this unit is extremely useful and helps to carry the theme of the interior from front to back quite effortlessly.
Engineers have also made good use of the space between the seats with a large storage compartment that has a sliding cover, making smart functionality out of otherwise wasted space. This is one of the hallmarks of Scandinavian design principles. There are 2 holders designed for either large or small cups in this area, and it is complemented nicely by a flexible armrest for the vehicle’s driver. The rear seats can also fold down completely, adding to the available space in the load compartment area.
Seating has also been upgraded as the choice of upholstery for the V50 has been expanded significantly since it was first introduced, and now there are more choices for buyers at both the base level and also at the high end as well. For the first time, a fine-grain leather is being offered for those discriminating buyers seeking a more luxurious feel in their automobile. The seats can now be ordered in a contrasting pattern with black and white colors with orange stitching.
