2011 Suzuki Equator Safety

The Equator has all of the standard safety equipment. Front and rear crumple zones, dual airbags with seat belt sensors and a 3-point seat belt with pretensioners and load limiters are included. Truly a beneficial feature for any off-road vehicle is a tire pressure monitoring system, which the Equator also has. With all the components that make up this rugged vehicle and a combination of the tire pressure control, the vehicle has excellent stability and control. During the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety new roof crush test, the Equator had the best performance among small pick-ups. The IIHS' highest rating was given to the Equator for side-impact testing.

For added safety on and off the road, the Equator is fully equipped with side and front airbags in the front. There are also curtain airbags for side impact or protection from rollovers designed for rear passengers. Rear-seat passengers also have the same safety of a 3-point seat belt that front passengers have. Located in the rear seat of the Crew Cab model is a child seat anchor, adding safety and security for the youngest passengers. The Bluetooth steering wheel control is also considered a safety feature. With the rising number of accidents caused by distracted drivers on cell phones, this feature allows owners of the Equator to drive safely with both hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
