The 2011 Saab 9-5, plus Saab itself, could have fell extinct just a year ago, when GM decided that it was part of the fat to be cut. Pity too--after all, it was a nearly 30 year-old automotive marriage. Life under the leadership of Dutch Spyker, though, is looking extremely promising.
As for the new 9-5, this one is a winner—a hundred times over the old one. The ironic part is that, while GM-Saab is no more, the new 9-5 is an almost 30-year-old result of the two companies’ collaborative efforts.
