The Titan is available with either 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive. It comes with one basic engine. The VK56DE Endurance 5.6-liter DOHC 32-valve V8 provides plenty of power and torque. It generates 317 hp at 5,200 rpm and torque of 385lb-ft at 3,400 rpm.

Flexible Fuel Vehicle (FFV) technology is available in certain regions of the country and on those vehicles, a heavy-duty (710 CCA) battery is standard. The rest of the Titans receive an almost as powerful 650 CCA battery. Both batteries, along with the vehicle’s platinum-tipped spark plugs and Direct Ignition System give very reliable starting power.

The Titan is available as a rear-wheel drive vehicle and also a 4-wheel drive vehicle. It has a 5 speed automatic transmission with a Tow/Haul mode.

Stopping the Nissan Titan are 13.8" front vented disc brakes and 12.6" rear vented disc brakes. They are part of a 4-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS) that provides smooth, safe stops. Also helping to control the truck is Brake Assist. Finally, the Electronic Brake Force Distribution system assures that the proper brake pressure will be applied to the front and rear wheels to provide sure stops, particularly in emergency situatio

The Titan has good, if not spectacular acceleration for a vehicle of its size and weight. It handles well on pavement and the ride is comfortable. You still feel the bumps and undulations, particularly on dirt roads which can be attributed to the truck’s stiff suspension.
