2011 Lincoln Navigator L Safety
The Navigator L has the proprietary AdvanceTrac with RSC along with the Trailer Sway control feature that enhances the quality of any long road trip. These are the latest in technology advances related to towing a trailer and are able to detect any kind of trailer sway, automatically taking prescribed measures such as reducing the amount of engine torque and applying a precise braking pattern designed to bring the vehicle and it's load under control again.
This is unlike any other system on the market and can deliver the type of performance that most of the competitors can’t. A special gyroscopic roll-rate sensor is used by the system to determine if the vehicle or its load are outside of the normal parameters. If the roll angle or roll rate have been determined to be abnormal, the system applies special measures to reduce the engine power in order to stabilize the load.
The Navigator L has also been supplied with the SOS Post-Crash Alert System which activates the horn and emergency flashers when the airbags are deployed. There are also Safety Canopy side-curtain airbags, dual-stage front airbags and front seat airbags contained in the passenger compartment to protect in the event of a crash situation. A rollover detection system is integrated as well in case this situation happens to occur.
The exclusive MyKey system tops off the safety features, and this can be used to program the vehicle key via the in-dash message center. Certain restrictions to the Navigator L can be made such as the Belt-Minder chime, setting a top speed limit of 80 mph, and a speed alert chime when the SUV hits 45, 55 or 65 mph and a volume control that limits the speaker volume to 44% of maximum.
