First, it’s hard to imagine why anyone wouldn’t opt for the AWD RX over the front-wheel drive: it offers a bit sportier drive and also better handling in adverse conditions and costs nearly the same. Additionally, the 450h certainly gets better gas mileage than most other SUV’s and has a slight power advantage over the RX 350, but the question the consumer will likely be asking is "are those worth the extra five-large?"
All-around, though, the 2011 Lexus RX 350 (and RX 450h, to an extent) is a solid value for the price, the base MSRP hovering right around $40,000. The huge cache of safety devices beat many, much more expensive vehicles, and there's no standard equipment (that should be standard on a vehicle in this class, that is) missing. The option packages, such as the $5,600 Rear-Seat Entertainment Package w/ Navigation, are definitely not cheap though. The RX is a capable five-people-mover with great looks inside and out and very good road manners.
