The design team has aimed for a more clean appearance out of this CUV and this has been emphasized in the full-sectioned body unit which makes great use of a shoulder line that runs the length of the car and helps to connect the front and rear lights. Along with the lowered body, this line helps to provide the profile with a very unique attention-grabbing style.

The signature Kia logo is displayed prominently on the front of the vehicle, which is accentuated by the flanking headlamps that have been set back in a sweeping fashion. The lower fascia and grille outline have also been restyled, giving it a fresh new look. Designers have also made changes to the rear of the Sportage as well, setting the tail lights into the rear lift gate. This all new design has kept the best features of the previous model while including some new driving and security items, helping to make this unit quite popular among buyers.
There are also a number of great exterior features offered with this model as well. The base trim package sports 16 inch alloy wheels with 215/70R16 tires, body-color door handles and adjustable side mirrors and a 6 speed manual transmission. The LX also has keyless entry and tinted glass, while the EX trim level offers 18 inch alloy wheels, roof rails and chrome body trim and door handles.
