2011 Chevrolet Suburban Safety
Being such a big and heavy vehicle, one would naturally assume that it was a pretty safe vehicle. The 2011 Chevrolet Suburban has not yet been rated by all of the government's safety tests. Essentially unchanged from the 2010 model year that received the top 5-star rating in frontal collisions, it is expected that the Suburban will do well, even with the more demanding qualifications that 2011 vehicles are being subjected to by the government agencies that perform crash tests.
An excellent ABS braking system, paired with stability control, allows the driver to keep the big, 6000 plus pound vehicle under control, even in the most severe braking situations. In addition to front seat airbags, there are also driver and passenger side airbags. Passengers in the rear seat are protected by side curtain airbags. A rollover sensor will warn you if you are taking turns too fast and are in danger of flipping the vehicle.
In the event of an emergency, the onboard OnStar system will be right there to lend assistance. If you are involved in an accident or just had a flat tire, OnStar works to get you the help you need. Rounding out some of the safety features are child seat anchors and a remote anti-theft alarm system.
