Review, Prices, Comparisons, Pictures
The key features of this automobile that have been upgraded for 2011 include advances in the Safety area, maintenance packages and other trim options designed to give the car a more modern appearance.
A new Lane Departure Warning system and Side Blind Zone Alert are two of the newest innovations unveiled by Cadillac for the new model year. The former employs a camera to provide information in the form of visual as well as audible alerts in case the current lane boundaries were inadvertently left. This could work well for drivers who may not be as alert as necessary, and serve to warm them about an impending accident. The Side Blind Zone Alert actually increases the vision of the driver, alerting him/her to blind spots by using radar sensors to find and locate objects that are near to the vehicle that may be unseen.
As with all of the other models in the Cadillac chain of vehicles, the DTS now has the standard Cadillac Premium Care Maintenance package included with the purchase. This means that services such as tire rotations, oil changes, engine and cabin filter replacement and 4 full years of multi-point vehicle inspections covering 4 years or 50,000 miles -- whichever comes first. OnStar version 9.0 is also being offered, which features voice recognition capability.
A few of the other amenities being package with the DTS for 2011 are 18 inch chrome wheels, a chrome grille and chrome inserts on the handle lift bars. The Northstar 4.6L V-8 engine is also standard with a rating of 292 horsepower and performance algorithm shifting.
The Cadillac DTS is among the best luxury models on the road and keeps getting better with each passing calendar year. With the newest advances in technology built in, this vehicle is not only safer to drive, but actually handles better as well.
