So I jumped into a life boat and I headed for the shore
and I nearly drowned so many times in life - I can rejoice!
and I wrote 1000 shitty songs while searching for my voice

but I finally got discovered by the guy that signed the Smiths
and he flew me out to London cause he thought he heard a hit
and he took me to the president of Warner Brothers Records and
I sang with demons in my ears that heckled and dismissed me

I signed myself a deal, then I threw it all away!
