I've been working over the last couple of weeks on the issue of "social networking" with the help from some excellent professionals. I must say, the experience has been educational, exciting and somewhat overwhelming at times.

Most of us like to consider ourselves social people. We go out, speak to friends on the telephone, send emails, IM, stay connected with our past and present coworkers, etc. However, social networking, whether its through Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn and others - is a very time-consuming endeavor and requires a great deal more dedication from us than before.

As the company I work for develops new strategies to tap into social networking, and I get more involved in the various groups I am interested in - it occurs to me that the future of social networking is not only going to help extend bridges across many lines and help all of us cultivate new connections... But it will introduce us to something I am going to call, "Time Management on Speed."
