I had Meningitis when I was 3 yrs old and lived to tell the tale, I'm 18 in May.
I am part of the senior C.A.T.CH (Cults Academy Team for Charities) team at school, we collect money all through the year and choose 3 charities to split the money between. This year I put Meningitis research foundation forward to be chosen as one of our 3 charities, and at the annual meeting where all C.A.T.CH representatives from every year group meet, Meningitis Research Foundation was chosen!
Thank you to the foundation for all your hard work and if it wasn't for your work, helping people recognise the symptoms of the disease I wouldn't be here today

Meningitis can affect anyone of any age. Certain groups including babies and young adults are more at risk. Vaccines do protect against some forms of the disease but not all.
You can read more about the diseases on our website www.meningitis.org if you would like to talk to someone about what has happened please feel free to call our 24 hour Freefone helpline 080 8800 3344

i think that its great what you do, because i had meningitis when i was six years old, but not that many people seem to know too much about it. i think a great idea would be to like go around schools giving assemblies and just raise awarness of the disease and therefore raise the awareness of dunraising events. i think this would help greatly.
i think more people should know about it
my mum has done a recipe book a few years ago to raise money for it, and my mum and dad on their silver wedding anniversary didnt want presents but asked for donations instead,
thank you and good luck xx
Meningitis Research Foundation is undertaking a survey to better understand how much is known about meningitis and septicaemia among the UK population. We would like to use the results of the survey to better target our information so it is helpful to you, gives you what you need and ensure we are not repeating what you may already know.
It is also important for us it to ensure we are getting information out to as many communities as possible, reaching all ages of the population and providing the information in a form which is accessible to you. The disease does not discriminate against who is affected, therefore, it is very important to Meningitis Research Foundation that everyone in the UK is aware of the symptoms.
Therefore, please take five minutes of your time to do our survey and complete the form at the end, so we can learn a little more about you and what you know about meningitis and septicaemia.
