- Maths Class are an angular Brighton based five piece, formed in early 2006. Barely in their twenties, the line-up is Tim Sketchley (vocals), Piers Cowburn (synth and vocals), Andy Davies (guitar and vocals), Aleksandar Damms (bass guitar) and Michael Gartside (drums).
They have already built up a whirlwind reputation for their energetic, chaotic live shows, “the sort that causes impromptu nosebleeds” and have recently been dubbed by Artrocker as "The best live band in the country".

Hoof Geld
Thanks to everybody who came to the E.P. launch at the Buffalo Bar. It was a fun night.
After two years of single bed nights Andy has moved on to bigger and better things via Freecycle, and a nice friendly man who helped us carry it from his house.

Horseynormals
Hell oo
Hope you're all feeling rested after a nice weekend of rainy barbecues and early nights, we on the other hand are feeling slightly tired after a rollercoster weekend of long drives and running women over (in reverse).
We played at GASH in London on Friday, which was ACE, made all the better by the lovely chinese next door and the man with the most interesting teeth in the service industry. We left at 3 and decided it'd be nice to drive
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...
straight to sunny Yorkshire to play the Culture Shock festival in Northallerton.
Overnight driving requires lots of stops to buy multipacks of Relentless, which is where you run across things like this.
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...
Nevertheless we made it to Northallerton eventually, which was great but made all the better by our friend who was driving us (and shall remain nameless) reversing into a woman whilst backing out from behind the stage. Cue police and a breathalyser, but luckily the cans of strongbow on the bottom of the van were down to us rather than him, and the coast was clear.
We also got a copy of this month's Artrocker, and found this:

very nice>>>>>>>>>!! and we also got single of the month:

Which is pretty much the most horseynormals thing we've ever heard, so thanks to the lovely people at Artrockrrrr.
In other news we received this lovely invoice for some chubchub alarm system (which I think we didn't order, or have delivered);;

And also maybe we don't live in Quebec.

armed siege
Thick and fast.
"Right I best actually do some work before I get fired"
Tim went to the Job Centre today, remember kids: blogging is fine in the evenings or weekends but if you do it at work there will be dire consequences.
As is always, another week of attempted rest which is now a blur in the back of the mind, but i think (in no particular order) it went something like this:
Saw High Places: one of the most delicate bands i've ever seen live, their recorded material is what rainforests would sound like if they were super cool and from Brooklyn. Amazing.
A knife man tried to steal some sushi from our local shop and ended up a couple of doors away from us, hidden in the loft with lots and lots of police cars and dogs and spectators. It was prime entertainment. You can read about it here:

Favorite quotes:
"He was smelly and grubby"
and
"To facilitate his escape, he broke into a house"
We were featured in the NME the other week:

And the single came back from the pressings which looks very nice:

Also also also also our video is now on rotation 120 minutes on MTV2;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
We also played some gigs recently....
On saturday we drove into sunny Brixton for Zonino 3.5, which was really good. The crowd were amazing, bands were cool and the promoter even played Andrew WK. The gig itself was really good, poncho party super-fun was employed and Tim even had his first crowd surfing / manhandling experience as a singer.
Sunday was a long drive to Weymouth for Boring By The Sea festival. We parked to find Eddie Argos stood in the middle of the road, looking like a partially dressed David Bowie and a game favored by the locals where you basically throw all of your money down a hole. The locals even added their own touch to the festivities with back-flipping chavs in bus stops and a female boxing match was organized right in front of the pub. The fighters pausing momentarily to throw-up between rounds. The gig was ace though - big thanks to everyone who was there.
