  • the end is the beginning is the end

We're sorry to anounce that this week heralds the end of mannikin as an active band.
We would like to say that we've had some great times, met some great people and played some great music with even greater bands.
Thanks to anyone who ever showed up to see us play, we really appreciate it.

Special thanks to family and friends who helped out at various times, especially Lorna who gave us great help, and to anyone who helped to get us gigs etc. There's too many people who have been great to us to thank

    Its been fun!

    Now the future beckons.

Good bye, good night, good luck!

  • high the five!

just saying thanks to all who turned out to our gigs this week.

the first of these gigs having been on tuesday last in a poor, unsuspecting lecture theatre in ucc. despite our best efforts we didn't start a riet but the gig was highly interesting, experimental and unorthadox. for those of you who weren't there it may or may not have involved:
    the ambulance song,
    the original paddy casey!
noel shifty maguire receiving electric shocks,
brian fashioning a crude cane from a tree,
    and nurses!

our gig in annie may's last night was a different matter entirely. this happily crazy affair was a good old fashoned annie may's shin dig. thanks to everyone who helped pack the place and created a nice buz.
for those of you who weren't present it may or may not have involved:
    bitch whack,
    a timbaland song,
    pints,
an extremely long and meandering phonecall,
and a propperly earthed mixing desk.

high five also to all those drunken wellwishers who provided entertainment in the club afterwards to the sounds of dj stevie g!

keep an eye out for our next gig which will be a while away but do not fret, it will be bigger and better than ever!

    keep it country people,
    till next time

  • it's a new dawn, its a new day....

fantastic, i'd love a cup of tea...

happy new year everybody from mannikin. May it be filled with pritty things and lollypops for you and yours.

we would like to extend our thanks to all that turned up for our new year's eve gig in our fare capital city.
Thanks to the sound engineer, the sound people and everyone inbetween. it was a great night. we had support on the night from a kings of leon album (aha shake heartbreak) which was great, and thanks to red kid who also played on the night.

for those of you who missed the gig, it may or may not have seen membors of mannikin taking-part in the following activities:

knacker drinking champagne in a posh Dublin suburb,
    penalty points,
    extreme pants dropping,
a general exaduration of the cork accent and the phrase (hello i'm from cork) being overused,
    accidentally dismantling a bathroom cubical,

    -------------

mannikin however will fully admit to having played a kick ass gig and feeling a great energy in the venue, so make sure you come to the next one.

speaking of the next one, we hope to see you in ucc's old bar on january 22nd for a lunch time rag week gig. bring everyone, it'll be mental!

finally, mannikin would like to offer an extreme vertual kungfu kick to the head to the "female?" gard who stopped us somewhere in tiprary.
of course we knew what speed we were doing, we were in a rush.

toodils, see youall at the next gig!

Hey guys! I'm from Bantry, in college in Dublin at the moment. Basically, my college's radio week is next week (www.ittfm.com) And I was wondering if you'd allow me to play a track or two of yours on my radio show? It's on this Monday, 6-7 pm.
