It's been a pretty hard, emotional week for us all - Lewis has left the band with immediate effect. This has come as a huge shock to us all and has forced us very quickly to decide what to do about our current commitments.
We have decided to cancel all our current live commitments and take some time to regroup. We really apologise for these cancellations - it's not a decision we'd make lightly - but promise to be back out on the road soon. Any tickets bought for our up and coming shows can be refunded from the point of purchase.
We are NOT splitting up - Make Model lives on. We'll emerge when the time is right and Make Model can begin a new chapter. We feel strongly that it is time to become more of a collective, to stand as equals and move forward with confidence. It has been a roller coaster of emotions over the past 18 months, during which we have recorded a debut album of which we are very proud. Though its fate is as yet undecided, there is no way we plan to roll over.
For everyone who has believed in the band, we are truly grateful for your continued support. Our thanks also go out to our close team, especially our management, and Iain and Dave who have been there from the start.
We are confident of a bright future with a fresh ambition to make exciting music. We believe that when you are knocked down you emerge stronger - that's exactly what we plan to do.
We’ve been offered a little stint on tour with popular Scots rockers The Fratellis, starting from the middle of next week. Unfortunately, this means that we will have to cancel some of our own dates on the current tour - don’t worry though, the wheels are already in motion to get them re-scheduled.
The affected dates are as follows:
Aberdeen Snafu 10th April
Dundee Doghouse 11th April
Edinburgh Cabaret Voltaire 13th April
Cardiff Barfly 16th April
Luton Club NME 17th April
So, really sorry if you’ve got tickets for those gigs already or were planning to come along, but I’m sure you get how important it is for us at this stage to take this opportunity to play to a lot of new people, especially as we’ve got our single coming out.
Like I said, we are working to re-schedule the dates, so please bear with us and accept our humblest appologies. And this bit of cake.
