- Me, Myself, and I
- Loud ‘n’ Proud is a youth charity which has, for over 7 years now, established itself at the forefront of the development of young musicians in Scotland.
It is a place for talented hard working young musicians and performers to thrive. We work with more bands than any other similar organisation and we have an incredible mix of young people, which extends from those who attend private schools to several who are in residential care. Some are without doubt the best young talent in the country and are destined for a future in music and there are those who are simply happy being part of something they enjoy.
Also, as a community based music initiative we consistently show that our approach to social inclusion produces impressive results in improving young people’s confidence, learning, employment and future prospects and has delivered huge wider benefits to the local community.

- School Of Rock
- One of the largest areas of our work, our School of Rock provides guitar, keyboard, vocal, drum and percussion tuition to a wide range of children. Crucially however, we also encourage them to form bands and groups and provide them with training on working together as a group, song writing, recording, sound engineering and stagecraft. Our aim is to create not simply talented instrumentalists but experienced musicians who know all aspects of the industry and can feel at home on any stage or at venue.
- Rock Orchestra
- Following on from the School of Rock, the cream of our musicians have banded together to form the Loud ‘n Proud Rock Orchestra, a 20 piece group who expertly belt out covers of classic rock songs. Their recent gigs have included rocking the Wickerman Festival and the main hall of the ABC towards the end of 2008, and blowing away the Armadillo at the SECC in early Feb 2009 with their rock musical “I Was There”, charting the rise and fall of the world’s greatest live music venue, the Glasgow Apollo.
- Two Rivers Rock Festival
- At the end of August each year we organise the Two Rivers Rock Festival, a musical extravaganza with both paid and free events held over three or four days in venues all over Paisley and Renfrewshire. This year’s highlights include a huge stage on the back of a massive American Big Rig truck in the centre of Paisley and over 25 gigs in a range of bars, clubs and other venues.
- Hit the Beat
- For nearly 4 years now Loud ‘n’ Proud has worked in partnership to create ‘Hit the Beat, ’ a joint venture with Strathclyde Police, the Crime Prevention Panel (Renfrew), the Anti Social Investigations Support Team, Renfrewshire Education and Leisure and Renfrewshire Neighbourhood Wardens team and Paisley YMCA, and is a Youth Diversion Project intended to divert 13-17 year olds away from anti-social behaviour, such as youth disorder, drug use and underage drinking.
- Charlston Drum Project
- Formed especially for the Sma Shot’s Day parade through paisley town centre, our Samba band and American Marching Drum Corps stole the show and provided entertainment for all both during the parade walk and with a special link up at Paisley Abbey that saw 6 different bands join together for a drumming extravaganza.
- Access All Areas
- Is our industry training programme, providing young people with live sound engineering, recording, light engineering, event management and music management, We regularly take placements from training companies and work experience students from schools. This is delivered with help from an outreach service of Renfrewshire's Workforce plus Equal Access to Employment Project.

Rock Orchestra - I Was There
“I Was There” doesn’t follow in the footsteps of “We Will Rock You” or “Mamma Mia”, it is a Rock Musical with difference. It tells the story of not only one band or artist – it tells the story of the best rock bands ever to take to the stage, it features the best rock songs ever and the central character is not a singer or a guitarist – it is the famous Glasgow Apollo, the greatest rock venue in the world.
The official blurb above was brought to life as the Armadillo was magically transformed into the Glasgow Apollo and the Glasgow choir was reunited in song and voice.
This was our most ambitious project yet and brought together a cast of over 100 dancers, actors and musicians, and after many weeks and months of stress and worry we managed to pull it together into an amazing show that wowed over 4000 people for 3 nights.
Special thanks go to Dave Anderson and Lesley Robertson for their invaluable help in pulling the script and actors together, Right2Dance for all of the dancing choreography and the whole of the SECC staff for being so accommodating and helpful throughout the show.
Better that any of the musicals we normally have coming through here, blows away Jason and Mama Mia is the only one that even comes close.

Loud 'n' Proud - ABC gig
5 acts blew away almost a thousand people at the ABC last night with an amazing show, headlined by the Rock Orchestra.
Two of the student bands, Forever Hidden and Free Speech, along with Matthew Oliver performing a solo guitar piece began the night, followed by Avalon, a band made up of members of the instructor’s team before the Rock Orchestra took to the stage to round off the night.

Rock Orchestra - Wickerman Aftermath
We all had a fantastic weekend down at the Wickerman Music Festival.
We received rave reviews for our own set in the Rowan World Music Tent, and were able to watch a huge range of other acts and bands ourselves over the weekend.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped us prepare for the event and who made it such a success, and the fabulous crowd who cheered us on while we were on stage.
"Loved the festival again. My wife and I had fantastic time, so many good bands. This was the third year we have seen Loud and Proud. I would love to see them on the main stage next year. They would blow the crowd away, they are amazing. They deserve the chance to show their talents to the Wickerman main crowd.
