The Killie Trust Presents: Fans v Legends Game 2010
The Killie Festival on Sunday 8th August at Rugby Park will once again feature the Fans v Legends organised by The Killie Trust and this time its at prime time 12.30pm! This will be the third time that the fans have taken on the Legends and while they have yet to record a victory the winning margins have been gradually reduced and it is hoped that trend will continue culminating in a win for the supporters. The places are being auctioned off on fans site Killiefc.com and bidding begun in earnest on Monday 12th July, but more on that below, first the format.
The match will be played on the pitch at Rugby Park and will be 20 minutes each way...but please note well that there are three "rolling" substitutes and you are only guaranteed 20 minutes pitch time...but it will be highly unlikely that any player will get any less than half an hour.
The bidding for each position started at £50, and for that you will receive a team shirt (with your name and number on it), shorts and socks which you get to keep. It is hoped that next season's strip design will be used but it is not known if they will arrive from the manufacturer in time so it might be necessary to go with last seasons...and all you have to bring with you is your own boots and shin-pads, and plenty of energy.
To make your bid for a place in the team you can register online at http://www.killiefc.com/ where you will find a thread for each position in the "Auction Action" forum therin. If you do not have online access then you can call a website administrator (07832 295860) who will nominate a proxy to bid for you up to your specified limit. Bidding may have started but it ends on Monday 19th July from 20:00 (server time) through to 22:20 so plenty of time left to bid. The highest bids before the cut off times will be deemed the "winners" and contacted in due course.
This is the fans big chance to pull on the blue and white stripes, lace up your boots, walk down the tunnel and to stride out onto the pitch of their heroes.
Everyone who has taken part so far has thoroughly enjoyed the occasion, the chance to pit their wits against Scottish Cup legends like Montgomerie and Bagan. It really is a fantastic opportunity to "live the dream" against some former Killie greats with all monies raised going to youth development through the Trust's Fifty for the Future initiative. Go on...you know you want to!0 Comments 148 weeks

Killies Number 50!
Last close season, for the third year running no less, The Killie Trust auctioned off an official squad number for Kilmarnock FC in aid of the Fifty for the Future campaign that has been up and running since 2005. The lucky bidder on this occasion was Jim Dick of Kilmarnock and he received his number 50 jersey at the penultimate home game of the 2009/10 season versus St Mirren, a match where Jim's name also featured as a substitute on the team sheet. Killie stars Manuel Pascali and Allan Russell were on hand to present their new squad mate with his top on the Rugby Park pitch. Jim. who had his Kaiserslautern supporting German friends alongside him to collect his wears. Kaiserslautern were promoted as champions to the Bundesliga the same weekend Killie secured their SPL status so a great weekend was had then by Killies number 50. Well done Jim.0 Comments 151 weeks
