Kenmure Youth represents all of the youth groups which meet at Kenmure Church in Bishopbriggs in Glasgow... they're a cheery bunch *heheh*

There's lots of stuff happening over the next while...

+ Special Saturday night worship - Saturday 5th July - Linda speaking...
+ Groups stopped over the summer - but there will be the odd social - so keep aware!!
+ sunday morning services = more teens friendly so please make the effort to go!!!!

Being a light in the world...
I've been meaning to do this for weeks and not quite getting there - thought it would be good to have a reminder up of the blindfolds points...

Passage used: Matthew 5:13-16

Remember those around us are missing out if we persist on leaving them in the dark...

Blindfold 1 - SPEAK UP!! - If you really want to stand for truth and light in this dark world then speak out the truth when you need to and should do! Don't shy away. God didn't give us a spirit of fear and timidity but 'One of power, love and self-disciple' (2 Tim 1:7) so live it out!

Blindfold 2 - DON'T GO ALONG WITH THE CROWD - Do you act one way with your church pals and another with your school pals? DON'T - instead be a young person of integrity (moral soundness) - Stand for Christ's values ALL of the time.

Blindfold 3 - DON'T DENY THE LIGHT - Some of the you choose to deny the light within you. Especially when you're away from the church. Don't deny the truth of the amazing light of Christ in you.

Blindfold 4 - DON'T LET SIN DIM YOUR LIGHT - None of us are perfect, but we can live free lines through forgiveness and grace!! Don't live in guilt - Claim the freedom which is yours to claim in Jesus Christ.

Blindfold 5 - EXPLAIN YOUR LIGHT TO OTHERS - Explain your experiences etc to others - don't avoid it! If you don't know how to then seek God's help or a leaders's help.

Blindfold 6 - DON'T IGNORE THE NEEDS OF OTHERS - Those who are happiest are those who spend less time worrying/moaning about their own life and spend more time caring for and helping others.

Blindfold 7 - DON'T LET BAD LANGUAGE/ ATTITUDE GET IN THE WAY - For some of us, our attitude damages the light. God and other folk see us 24/7, so we need to be careful how we act. We will reap as we sow. If we are mean, negative etc towards others then that is what will come our way, but if we are kind and loving then that is what will come our way. Be careful with your attitude!

Our purpose in life is to GLORIFY GOD in the way we live and act... - have you been doing that recently?

Right... we (the leaders organising the 24 hour event) have a request....

Anyone know of any adults (parents perhaps) who would like to coming along for an hour or so (from about 9:30am) on Saturday morning of the 24 hour event???

We have something special planned - but it requires us to have some adults along who are up for some quizness and fun.......

any takers?

So... this time next week myself and the other leaders will be at the church awaiting your arrival and wondering what on earth we've forgotten to pack/prepare for the weekend... thats right its only a week till we go to GLENSHEE 08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
