- Keep of Kalessin spawned back in 1994, under the name Ildskjaer, by hand of Ghash and Obsidian C. , later joined by Vyl and Warach. The band´s violent yet dark and epic Black metal as well as the somewhat mysterious monicker and lyrics, are inspired by the work of fantasy of the American writer U. Le Guin ´The Earthsea Quartet´.
Obsidian C. is determined to bring Keep Of Kalessin to the masses and has seen that live performances is a must for doing that. He has teamed up with early Kalessin drummer Vyl and found a perfect replacement for Attila as well as a new bassplayer. The new album is entitled “Kolossus” and is anticipated to have a huge impact on the whole metal scene. Recorded in the band’s own studio in Trondheim, Kolossus is a natural descendant of Armada, and perfectly reflects the unique musical craftsmanship and the power of the band. All songs featured on the album are recorded live in one take – no clipping or copy/paste technique are used and all instruments.

EX DEO, the new Roman themed band featuring Maurizio Iacono of KATAKLYSM recently announced that Obsidian C. (KEEP OF KALESSIN) makes a special guest appearances on the new album, Romulus where Obsidian C. lends a majestic and beautifully melodic solo on the track "Cruor Nostri Abbas."
Commented Maurizio Iacono: "It's an honor for me that such talented musicians and friends lent their art for a couple songs on this album. I only asked a few selected people that had involvement with history through their music and related to this band's concept, so I salute them for contributing to Rome's rise and they shall be amply rewarded for it."
