Planetlove & Goodgreef Bring Euphoria Album Party To Galway
Hard dance descends on Galway on Bank Holiday Sunday 6 June as Planetlove and Goodgreef presents the official Hard Dance Awards Euphoria Album Tour in the GPO.
Hard Dance Awards Euphoria is the latest album released from global music giants Ministry of Sound and features three CDs mixed by some of the biggest stars in hard dance and Euphoria; Kutski, Andy Whitby vs Technikal and Ed Real.
And after touring the UK for three months the official Album Party finally arrives in Ireland – complete with the CD’s biggest artists!
Kutski is BBC Radio 1’s hard dance and hardcore maestro.
His weekly Friday night show is an essential diet for harder-edged music lovers across the UK and has helped Kutski secure bookings across Europe, Australia and beyond.
One of the most technically-gifted DJs on the planet, Kutski regularly mixes, cuts, slices and scratches his way through multiple genres as he takes his fans on a journey through the harder styles of electronic music.
In March this year Kutski was a double winner at the Hard Dance Awards picking up gongs for Best UK Hard DJ and Outstanding Contribution to the scene.
Having just completed a tour of Canada Kutski now embarks on a series of festival dates across the UK including Run To The Sun, Coloursfest and Escape Into The Park.
He then flies to the Netherlands on 12 June for the huge Defqon1 festival before landing in Ibiza the following night to help spearhead celebrations at the Judgement Sundays Opening Party in Eden, San Antonio.
The Chester native has also just been made ambassador for the charity Dance4Life and has been headhunted by Pioneer to appear in their latest equipment tutorial videos - he is without doubt one of the biggest DJs in hard dance today!
Andy Whitby is widely acknowledged by his peers as the man pushing the boundaries of hard dance.
A seasoned professional of the genre Whitby has played every major hard dance event in the UK, whipping crowds into a frenzy with his mixture of remixes, bootlegs and re-edits.
His AWsum brand comprises of no less than eight record labels, an event production arm and a clothing range, while the energetic showman also promotes his own events with household name brands including Godskitchen, Polysexual and Atomik.
Whitby’s appearance in the GPO is sandwiched between gigs in Capetown, South Africa, and Es Paradis in San Antonio, Ibiza!
Revellers can expect a night of the biggest euphoric and hard dance tunes around with an atmosphere to match any venue in the country.
Planetlove team up with Goodgreef to present the official Hard Dance Awards Euphoria Album Tour at the GPO in Galway on Bank Holiday Sunday 6 June. One of the most popular stars on the hard dance scene, Andy Whitby has risen through the ranks with consummate ease – his passion, talent and affinity with his audience helping to propel him into the limelight in double-quick time.
His unique style and presence behind the decks – his sets are created using a mixture of his own productions, re-edits and bootlegs – combined with complete dedication to bringing the music to the masses has rewarded Andy with one of the biggest and most loyal fan base within the genre.
With a total of ten years DJing experience under his belt, Andy Whitby has played every major hard dance event in the world, and alongside most of the heavyweight names: Paul Van Dyk, Eddie Halliwell and Judge Jules to name just a few. He has been resident at the massive Frantic events since 2004 and during that time has played some of the biggest and most internationally-recognised venues including Ministry of Sound, Brixton Academy and Koko. He also headlined the brand’s tour of South Africa in 2008. Andy has also mixed five compilations for Frantic, including two gold-selling Frantic Euphoria albums.
His style of feel-good euphoric hard dance, mixed with unlimited tricks, chop ups and edits marks him as a pioneer in the hard dance scene. Andy is widely acknowledged by his peers as leading the forward charge, and constantly pushing the boundaries of the harder side of dance music.
In the studio, Andy is no less hard-working, producing a range of remixes for AATW, 3Beat, Nukleuz Defiance and his own AWsum label among others.
He has produced some of the biggest-selling and most popular hard dance tracks of the last five years – his ‘Hard House Slut’ track topped the ‘all-genre’ chart at leading UK download store, trackitdown.net. Another production, ‘Rokk Ya Body’ is recognised as one of the biggest anthems in recent years.
On the remix front, Andy has officially remixed the scene’s best-loved tracks, including BK’s ‘Revolution’, Kristine Blonde’s ‘Love Shy’, Blackout Crew’s ‘Dialled’ and Cortina’s ‘Music Is Moving’, proving he is the go-to guy for fresh hard dance sounds.
On top of this, Andy has created and grown a monolith brand, AWsum, which is comprised of no less than eight labels, an event production arm and a clothing range. The stable of AWsum imprints covers all styles of dance. Seven of these labels were launched in 2009, and Andy plans to spend much of next year concentrating on building on this.
Staging ambitious stand-alone club events and teaming up with household name brands such as Godskitchen’s Polysexual and Atomik, plus hosting an arena at the massive underground dance festival, Westfest means Andy Whitby can add another string to his bow - becoming a credible and relevant event promoter. Andy says his attention to detail and knowledge of his crowd – he is in his early 20s himself – are the key to the success of his AWsum events.

2009 was Kutski’s busiest year to date, despite the credit crunch circumstances that hit so many industries. Kutski also stepped up his international profile with ground breaking high energy sets at the infamous Monday Bar Sweden, Ground Zero Festival in Holland, Tunnel rave in Germany, Quartz Festival in Norway and tour’s of U.S.A, Canada & Australia.
Kutski’s weekly BBC Radio 1 show has grown from strength to strength, reaching new heights. This is the first time Hard Dance & Hardcore has had a weekly format to reach new audiences and it’s an honour, but also a well deserved plaudit for a true hard working professional. The show now fills a more peak time slot over his previous monthly Radio 1 show format with a 1am to 3am schedule every Friday night/Sat morning. The show has given Kutski another outlet and opportunity to showcase his ability to combine underground beats on a commercial stage keeping his diversity as an artist and in depth knowledge of all genres of harder edged dance music.
This unique diversity and musical knowledge caused Dj Magazine to approach Kutski to become they’re newest hard dance and hardcore column writer. Now writing monthly reviews representing the harder scenes on a truly global platform, which emphasises why he is becoming a legend in the making, as well as a true ambassador for the scene, continually giving something back. Also as a legend in the making for dance music Kutski has been asked to become an ambassador for Dance4life this year.
Kutski also generously shares his technical and musical knowledge with the dance music community online via his Youtube video tutorials. Demonstrating all of the latest dj equipment hardware, software, tricks of the trade and production techniques, his tutorial’s and other videos are clocking up ten’s of thousands of hits, often getting his channel into the top 10 list of most viewed musicians on Youtube. His channel currently has over 1000 subscribers, which is no mean feat!
The success of these tutorials and mass online presence has caused many of the world’s largest manufacturers to get in touch and send in they’re latest kit or software to test out online. They include Vestax, Serato, Stanton & Akai and more recently world’s giants Pioneer, where he will join the dance music elite alongside James Zabielia, Armin Van Buuran, Carl Cox, Eddie Halliwell and Roger Sanchez in new product development.
Not content with just dominating the hard dance scene, Kutski has established himself as a credible hardcore artist too which has led to him being supported by the scene’s leaders. HTID, Fantazia, Uprising, Masters of Hardcore are amongst many other hardcore promoters who request Kutski as a regular headliner for their events, with his profile outshining many hardcore artists in the scene. Kutski has mixed several commercial compilations including Bonkers & Hardcore Underground as well as producing countless anthems with Al Storm.
