Welcome to the Prime Minister’s Global Fellowship, which has been created to nurture outstanding talent and enterprise in young people in England through exposure to and dialogue with three of the world’s most important developing economies.

100 young people from England are spending six weeks in China, India or Brazil this summer to immerse themselves in the local culture and economy.

All Fellows are 18 or 19 years old, come from different educational and ethnic backgrounds and finishing full-time education or apprenticeships.

Keep up to date with the journey of the Fellows and exclusive competitions by becoming a member of this group. During their time abroad, the Fellows will also share their experiences and insights with you on their individual profile pages, check out 12 of these below.

  • The Challenges of 200!

    Ok boys and girls Dom and I (Josh) are currently partaking of the challenges of 200!
    There are currently 3 challenges going on and we accept any decent ideas that you the general public can come up with.

    Challenge Number 1: The 1 Yuan Note Game
    Contenders: Josh and Dom
    Rules: Both Dom and Josh must collect 1 Yuan notes. These can only be collected as change from purchases and not bought from other fellows/people at any time for any price. The challenge is to collect 200 notes between the two, when the number 200 is reached (or the time/trip runs out) the loser (the person with the least 1yuan notes) must take the 1 yuan notes and buy a purchase something for exactly (as as close as possible to) the total amount of the money.

    Dom: 11
    Josh: 6

    Challenge Number 2: The Cornetto Count
    Contenders: Dom only
    Rules: Dom must eat atleast 200 Cornettos over the period of the 6-week trip. Pictures and videos will be uploaded in due course on his profile of him with various cornettos.

    Challenge Number 3: The High-Five Challenge
    Contenders: Josh only
    Rules: Josh must high-five as many people as he can. Other fellows, anybody working the fellowship and anybody we meet do not count. The high-fived people must be entirely strangers and each person can only be high-fived once. Videos of Josh attempting high-fives will be uploaded in due course on his profile.

    Any ideas for challenges for Dom and Josh will be read personally and decent ideas will be taken on board.
    Challenges relating to illegal activities in any country will not be accepted. Easy or potentially dangerous challenges will be ignored.
    The person who posts the best challenge will recieve 1 week of being the top friend of that particular fellow.

    Hey everyone,
    Chinese Fellows are on our work placements too!
    I'm working for a company called IMI who are an engineering company, they've taken us on lots of trips including to Tian Jin in the north near Beijing. And on Wednesday we're going to Shenzhen, which is next to Hong Kong, for a couple of days to see their suppliers down there!

    So its been a pretty packed week! We had flash floods today which meant that our 1 hour journey took 4 hours this morning, there were people wading down the streets it was that bad!!

    Anyway i hope everyone else is okay

    the Brazilian fellows, as im sure all the other fellows, have just started thier work placement ( i am with Cadbury) and we are all having very different experiences... personally at Cadbury we get free massages and all the staff can wear whatever they want. it is a very relaxed environment and the all-day free gum is a plus too!!!!

    Hi everyone!
    Arrived in Bangalore last night for our final 2 weeks of the programme! The city is far more modern than Delhi and we are staying right in the business district but there are plenty of malls nearby for shopping!
    Sam is looking after us which is really good cos she is soo cool!
    I'm working at Tesco for the next 2 weeks which should be a learning curve as I know nothing about business!
    Today, we are going to the city centre for sightseeing and shopping and lunch! Should be good!
