Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu in conjunction with Tahu FM would like to invite you to participate in our ‘Launch of Te Wiki O Te Reo Māori 2009’, Monday 27 July 2009.
Your participation for the launch of Te Wiki O Te Reo Māori 2009, involves being one of 92 people lined up at High Street City Mall in Christchurch between Cashel and Hereford Streets wearing a tee-shirt with one of the letters from the Longest Māori Place Name in the World. Tahu FM will be there from 6:30 until 9 doing their brekkie show live. The place name is:
Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamat
eaurehaeaturipukakapikimaungahoron

kei te whakawhiti te ahua o to tatou motu, a, to tatou ao hoki, if we are willing to work together only good can come of it, Maori + Labour, Maori + National doesn’t mean a thing to me as long as the outcome is positive then Im for it, we had some good things come from labour and some bad, we will have good come from National and bad also. At the end of the day the real question should be do you want the Government to hold your hand or tell you how to live!! Personally I think no matter what happens, who you are or where your from, if you are not self-determined first then no one can help you. “Hori”

No reira ki ta Pita, pai ake kia kore uru ki te kapetinata hei pahupahu ki nga he o te kapetinata. He aha ou na whakaaro? Bronson Perich

And that's better than what Labour offered us, being the Last Cab off the rank.

Optimus Prime is Maori11/6/08Maumahara ki te poti a te 8 o Noema nei! Kua poti ahau me te hoatu aku tiki e rua ki te Paati Maori, ahakoa tou Paati e hiahiatia e koe, me poti! Maumahara ki te poti! Kaua e mangere me te pohehe "E kore te Paati Maori e whiwhi turu!" E rua noa iho aku kupu ki te hinga e pera ana: "Barak Obama". Kua nawhi!

There are only 2 official languages in Aotearoa - Maori and Sign Language. English is not an "official" language, if official means statutory recognition (like the Maori Language Act 1987 and the New Zealand Sign Language Act 2006). It is assumed that the English language is an official language...
