- We show movies in Forest Row village hall, and sometimes in other places as well. Mostly foreign films, but in principle we can show anything as long as can get a decent audience.
In addition to the big screen and surround sound in the hall, we've also got portable equipment for other venues.

Next film: Kirikou and the Sorceress
Sunday, 11 October 2009, 2.30
Kirikou is a tiny child, as fast as anything, and never stops talking. From the moment he is born he wants to know why his village is suffering so much. The evil and scary sorceress, Karaba, has cast a terrible spell on the place, and Kirikou resolves to set things to rights.
Beautifully animated, with a marvellous feel for the shape and colours of Africa, and a soundtrack by Youssou N'Dour, Kirikou and the Sorceress is a refreshing alternative to anodyne mainstream cartoons.
Winner of loads of awards, including the Children's Jury Award at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival in 1999.

Next film: Couscous
Friday, 18 September 2009, 8:00pm, Forest Row Village Hall
France Colour 15 154 min 2008
Director: Abdel Kechiche
Slimane has just been made redundant. He buys an old boat, dreaming of turning it into a floating restaurant serving the best couscous, helped by his extended family. Tragic and comic flavour blend nicely in this succulent offering.

What films should we show in Forest Row?
by
Brad Scott
We can't just get a DVD and screen it. We need to get a licence and stuff like that, so screening a film costs about £130. And not all films are available either. Just because something is on DVD doesn't mean we can get a licence.0 Replies 145 weeks
So, given that, what should we show in the village that you might want to come to? It would be good if it was something a bit out of the ordinary, and that we could get 60-100 people to come to.
Two good places to start to find films that we can easily get the licence for are:
