Our invitation/ticket only event promises to be an entertaining & relaxed party within a safe & sophisticated environment. Special events will include DRAG ACTS, COMEDIANS & COMEDIENNES, VOCALISTS, LIVE DJ`S, THEME NITES & MUCH, MUCH MORE.....

- For a long time gay, bi, transgender people living in the borders have moaned about the lack of things to do for us "gay" folk, now that flirt has opened it has created a safe, fun and enjoyable place for people to meet and have fun! Without contuined support from the gay community in the borders Flirt would not happen, so plz plz every 1 keep up the good work and keep supporting us!

- Scottish Borders LGBT Forum has been around since December 2006 and is supported by Scottish Borders Council, NHS Borders, LGBT Youth and Lothian and Borders Police. The group meets monthly and has 2 equally important themes: the promotion of social opportunities and events locally and to promote LGBT equality within the Borders. We do this by speaking up on behalf of LGBT people, responding to consultations on policies and procedures and examining the performance of public bodies with a view to improving how they respond to issues affecting our community. We want to meet with Flirt members at the May Flirt event to discuss any problems or concerns the local LGBT community may have and also to hear your ideas for new services or social events you would like to see in the area. If anyone wants 1 to 1 advice, all organisations mentioned above will be represented and confidentiality is assured. We are also looking for new forum members and volunteers to help out with our work.

The event & idea has been concieved from a need within the BORDERS to provide a gay friendly venue & bring together likeminded people in a safe & secure environment. It is very much an open forum for anyone who wishes to, to have an input.....

- FLIRT would be willing to provide a private bus to pick-up/drop off at JEDBURGH - ST BOSWELLS - MELROSE - GALA - SELKIRK - HAWICK. This would be dependant on numbers (min 20), please contact us for details if you would be interested in this service.

I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.
I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire
a transsexual woman.
I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.
We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.
I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room.
I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me.
I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again.
I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear.
We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men.

I am the boy who is constantly hararased in school because being bi isnt socially acceptable.
I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a such better person if I didnt have to always deal with society hating me.
I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind.
I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.
I am the person ashamed to tell my own friends im a lesbian, because they constantly make fun of them.
I am the boy tied to a fence, beaten to a bloody pulp and left to die because two straight men wanted to "teach me a lesson."
