- The European Independent Film Festival (ÉCU) is at the forefront of the discovery, promotion and projection of the very best independent filmmaking talent from around the World.
ÉCU screens approximately one hundred of the very best independent films from around the world every year to a large audience of filmmakers, film industry professionals, media representatives and a public craving the energy and free spiritedness of independent films. It also involves a weekend of free workshops presented by industry professionals.
Be sure to check out our video section, for a snipits of all the ÉCU 2008 winning films. We have started receiving films for ÉCU 2009 and will soon have sneak previews available!

The Perfect Pitch at ECU 2009!
The Perfect Pitch is a new program to premiere at The European Independent Film Festival, taking place March 13th-15th, 2009, at La Bibliotheque Nationale de France, Francois Mitterand, in Paris.
The program begins with a series of workshops - taking place on Friday, March 13th - related to preparing and executing a pitch presentation. Following the workshops each participant will have the opportunity to pitch in a practice pitch session, from which twenty individuals will be selected to pitch their projects to a panel of industry professionals – ranging from producers and programmers to distributors and financiers – on the final day of the festival, Sunday, March 15th.
The Perfect Pitch is the perfect opportunity for filmmakers and industry professionals alike. Filmmakers will work on improving all aspects of their pitch, meet various industry professionals and gain exposure for their projects. Industry professionals will learn about these new film projects and the filmmakers pulling them together as well as meet other individuals representing studios and production and distribution houses.

Since it's inception three years ago, ECU has become the premier arena in Europe for independent filmmakers to screen their films to large international audiences, exchange ideas with other indie filmmakers, as well as to network with producers, talent scouts, agents and distributors.
Many of the award-winning films from previous editions of The European Independent Film Festival have since gone onto achieve great success. Several producers / directors have found the much needed support to push their careers forward and find funding for new projects.
The films officially selected to screen at ECU 2008 will be judged by a panel of industry experts and will compete for an array of prize packages from our sponsors Avid, Scriptshark, Final Draft, Fuji Film, My Space, Bebo and Azureus.

This is the adventure of Lady Wasteland. A story rooted in the misfortune of individuals left to scour a vast wasteland in search of their own private destiny. Each character: a fragment, a survivor, a wanderer. In a god-forsaken landscape after the collapse of civilized society, we find a generation left for dead, fueled by revenge, apathy, absurdity, and the need to find a piece of food.
