- We are the Dorset Youth Marching Band of Wimborne. DYMB, now the official Wimborne Town Band, formed in 1996 from a scout band (which originally formed in 1970). We have been playing at carnivals, fetes, concerts etc throughout the past 12 years. In 2001 the band completed a successful tour of Germany and Luxembourg, helping to spread our reputation of discipline and smartness. In 2006 DYMB visited Saumur, in the Loire Valley, France for 5 days. During the time spent there we performed many events, helping to get our name further known. This has quickly turned into an annual event. We returned to play again in 2007 and 2008 (be sure to take a look through the photos, or go to www.dymb.org). Although we were unable to make it in 2009, who knows what 2010 will bring!
We are a traditional B Flat Bugle band and have a variety of tunes and manoeuvres to accompany any event!

Corfe Mullen Remembrance Day Parade - Sunday 8th November 2009
We arrived shortly after finishing our sausage and chips provided by the Broadstone Royal British Legion after leading the Parade in Broadstone. We fell in at the front of the parade and before long we were stepping off toward St Nicholas Church. Once there the parade fell out and headed inside for the service. The service was soon over and we were marching off toward the Cenotaph. A service was performed at the Cenotaph along with the Last Post and two minutes silence. Once this was finished, we marched the parade to the Corfe Mullen Royal British Legion where the parade was dismissed and we all went our separate ways.
Well done to all the band members for all the effort on such a cold day.

Broadstone Remembrance Day Parade - Sunday 8th November 2009
We arrived at 10am and began preparing for the parade. Before long we were ready to go, with the members of the British Legion, Armed Forces, Scouts and Guides waiting to follow. We marched off toward the Cenotaph. Once we arrived, the service was performed and two minutes silence was observed along with the Last Post.
We then lead the parade to the Church where another service was performed. Before long we were marching back to the British Legion, to fall out and head our separate ways. The Broadstone Royal British Legion were kind enough to give us a generous helping of sausage and chips each before we headed over to Corfe Mullen to perform in the parade there.

Warminster Carnival - 31st October 2009
Warminster Carnival marks the last illuminated carnival of 2009 for the Dorset Youth Marching Band. The streets were lined with crowds of spectators as we followed the carnival around the route. We played our best tunes to loads of applause. Well done to everybody for a brilliant carnival. Lets see more of the same for the rest of 2009!
Be sure to come and see during our upcoming Christmas Season. Head to http://www.dymb.org to find out more.0 Comments 132 weeks
